    Dug this up from 2008.

    Although employed on the right flank by Plymouth this season,Dan Gosling prefers to play at right-back and Moyes believes that is the youngster’s best position.

    Now I know our present RB has his fans but surely with the abundance of talent in midfield , Gosling would want regular 1st team action, which with the quality we have he may struggle to get. Simpson is a great squad player but I'd give Gosling a run. If called upon elsewhere in the team, he's a pretty versatile lad.

    Didnt he leave Everton to play CM?

    one of the reasons he joined us was because he didn't like Moyes playing him at RB or to a lesser extent RM. He prefers CM

    One of Gosling's reasons for leaving Everton was that he wanted to play centre midfield. <ok>

    Surely he will want to use the absence of Cabaye and Barton to try and get a spot in CM instead of playing at RB.
