whether or not Slovenian U21 international Harris Vuckic will return to CCS for Mothers Day. I'm afraid I am undecided about the lads qualities so far.He looks a work in progress and shows potential but he is not up to the pace of the Championship where time is of the essence.I would like to see him develop a more physical side to his game and put in some solid tackles. Harris seems unsure where his future lies at the moment and could hedge his bets and look for a longer term future with City, depending on a renegotiated loan agreement and current talks with Alan Pardew. What's your thoughts on the lad?
Pretty much the same as you ITI. Not exactly what we need at present, i.e. pace, ball winning, goal scoring and commitment. Definitely a good footballer but would perform better in a formation more suited to his style.
I've never really seen the benefit of a months loan. Very little time to adapt to the different style of game unless they're a quality player (Rambo last year) He's looked decent enough without setting the league alight. I posted elsewhere he still has a "time on the ball" mindset which we know isn't the case in the Championship. In his defence, the odd appearance from the bench isn't going to help him adapt either and with only a handful of games left, if he comes back, he has to hit the ground running.
On the plus side at least Malky seemed happy to use him so he'll bring a bit of rotation and with it hopefully energy.
He could be useful, but don't think he's the answer - we need a couple of Duracell guys right now, not someone trying to adjust. As far as squad rotation is concerned Stevo - you need the will to actually do it first. Looks like we've siezed up. Taking the Mr. Micawber approach and relying on the "chosen few" when clearly there's a problem smacks a bit of the criticism levelled Dave Jones, but at least Malky has genuine options whereas Dave was often left looking for academy lads to fill the subs bench. These past few Championship games shouldn't detract from the terrific job Malky has done this season, but this is now and needs addressing.
It will be interesting to see which players if any are rested or benched for Sunday. Spark! I think the vast majority will be happy with Malky's first season wherever we finish.I said pre-season just outside the playoffs but later got caught up in the drive for auto promotion. What I'm now looking forward to is to see which way an under pressure Malky goes for the final 10 games.Several changes over the next two to three games to allow players to recover or push on with the same spine and prove doubters wrong.Burnley is now a big big game, something it wouldn't have been had we taken a point from Hull.
As Spark says this is the here and now. Most fans are on the whole seem happy with the season to date, but football is all about opinions and a lot of our fans have the opinion that we should have used our squad more in recent weeks. No one knows if we're right, we do know that on a couple of occasions MM has potentially been wrong in his selections in the form of poor results. Whether he had the tools to affect those results in any different way, again, it comes back to those opinions......... I do think there's a big chance we'll see an unchanged 11 this Sunday though
From Twitter @BluebirdsPlayer Vuckic will not be returning to #cardiffcity due to injuries at #nufc. Malky's full press conference on Player before noon.
On the ball there H. Would be great to bring in an experienced bench warming Prem target man as an alternative before the loan window closes. Now what's all this about Berbatov?
Nah, doesn't work hard enough for Malky. Not surprised about Vukcic. Wasn't he on the Newcastle bench v. Arsenal? Surely there must be some suitable loan targets out there? If only, to give some very tired legs a rest for a game or so?
Apparently Pardew wanted him to come back but Toon picked up 3 injuries this week so that ended that one. No mention of anyone new in the pre-match interview but MM acknowledged that some squad players are looking fresher than others and "players play themselves in and out of the team"... read into that what you will but I'm feeling a mini Earnie revival Rudy definately out but Macca in with an outside chance of being included
