Growing up, my brother and my step dad had a shed load of tools, literally. Now, I have a few, I'll probably get some more. Nowhere near as many as they had though. None of my mates, my own age or younger have any tools... do people just not fix things nowadays? Shed sales must be dwindling.
I have a canny few tools in my shed. metal working stuff when i was a welder and then stuff i gathered on the way and now i dabble in making wooden stuff i have drills, saws, sanders, grinders, cutting stuffs. Just bought a mitre saw with stand to go with my little collection.
lol, yes but got a big raggy scar down my middle finger where it was sliced open on a pillar drill, just so happens the wife likes it??
I've got a hammer, a screwdriver, a bag of pins and a spirit level in my bedside drawer. Maybe a few allen keys. That's the sum total of my handy manning.
I'm a bit of a tool freak tbh, got a 5 x 3 meter shed full of them and more in the garage, I do everything myself. The only thing I won't try is plastering cos i'm crap at it, but anything else I will have a go.
Do you not fancy a go at Robot Wars? You could weld a few blades from a blender to a lawnmower and fit some tank tracks to it. You could use it for other stuff too, like mincing your neighbour's cat.
Nah, I tend to dabble with wood these days. Make a few Cigar Box Guitars, also built a couple of stone built Pizza Ovens, log cabins etc. As for the cat, my dog keeps that horrible thing at bay, can't catch it like but it stays away and I've got an air rifle as back up Anyway, I can't be upsetting the bitch next door can I?
I have a Stanley combination plane and all the blades, electric sander, planer and planes. enjoy making tongue and grooved boards, panels, bolection moulds, beading I am going to build a 20 x10 ft shed when the weather breaks hopefully. I build vehicle models with my dad (ex fireman) as well, scaled up from photos, mainly fire engines and have been in a magazine a few years ago, and been on show at the museum on bridge street in 2004 !
I've accumulated a good collection of tools over the years, I could probably quit my job and start a carpentry business, if I wasn't **** at it that is. The tool that gets used the most is my hammer, I always seem to be saying "I'll get the hammer".
