Carroll was always a big risk and it looks like we blew it. looking at fernando Llorente in bilbao's seasons since we really missed out then. can you guys look back as see what you said about Carroll? I looked at not606 first in jan31 2011 and found several of the current site users like bluff and luvgonzo and boz and i think an awful lot of veiws were similar on this site too. As per my "man in the street" artile, it looks as though ordinary fans would do a better job of deciding on sanctioning deals than the advisers at anfield
Wise words MITO ... I can never begrudge a player for wanting to leave for another club in the hope of either earning more money, increase his chances of winning medals or for family reasons. Torres is an ambitious player who should be playing at the highest level and we were going up **** creek without a paddle. It didn't help when we had to endure 6 months of Roy Hodgson after Rafa (I still maintain that getting rid of Rafa was the worst decisions has ever made but let's not get into that!). What I do find hard to bear is the way players leave. Example - Torres leaving it to the last minute forcing us to make a decision on Carroll. Then making his snide remarks about wanting to join a bigger club. In contrast - look at Alonso. Never said a bad word about the club, left with dignity. I had the same concerns with Carroll as well and to be honest, he hasn't done much to convince me that he is a top class centre forward bar the past couple of months.

I talk bollox all the time so it wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. From what I remember I may have stuck the boot into Lucas on the odd occasion, I also remember starting a thread apologising for my poor judgement and quite a few others held their hands to that mistake. I'll try and have a little trawl through it.
Some of the comments early doors on here are funny as we are all so new and some it is just tippy toeing around.

My first ever thread was about Charlie Adam when we were first linked with him, about how he isn't good enough. Plenty of people agreed with me which then led to my status of becoming one of the superior and much loved members of this board.
Mine was a team for thread, I think James_8 (wherever he may be) posted. There were some random people back then, probably didn't stay and rolled out to somewhere else as our very first thread on the liverpool board is a manc just blasting the club, fans, and players.
