I am less than 6 months short of 40 years old.

The reason I bring this up is because I am finding all the point scoring from Leicester fans about our wealth a bit tiresome. I am also finding other fans glorying in any little failing tiresome too.

But let's make something clear. I am not telling anyone how they should support their club. I was young too and I probably had more to say to fans of other clubs than I should've done. I worked with Derby, Forest and glory supporters and would give a bit when we got one over them and then sulk when they did the same back.

I just liked us better when we were in League One, where we made a conscious decision to treat the other clubs around us with respect. I think we won ourselves a lot of friends that season while the likes of Leeds constantly put people's backs up with their boasting.

The season is still young, Leicester played well yesterday and got a good point at a difficult place. There are 42 games left to play and I am 90% confident we will be knocking on the door of the top 2 come April.

Neil Danns quoted this on Twitter the other day.
"Work hard in silence and let your success make all the noise."

I don't know where this quote is from but that is how I intend to support Leicester this season. It will come good in the end and that will answer our critics better than any clever put down 4 games in.

I can see it both ways tbh. I do get fed up of it at times but it's part of the fun as well.

I'll take a bit of warranted stick if I can give it out when we're on top as well.

As for boasting, people have been telling us Sven's no good and we are wasting our money and we are going into administration even since last season, so I don't know what they expect from our fans, obviously we are going to take the piss back and talk our chances up.

Wouldn't you find promotion all the more enjoyable considering everyone wants us to fail? Rubbing other people's noses in it is half of what football's about!

not arrogant at all are you Stourbridge? Your peers in the Premier League are really missing you, your ****e support, ****e football, ability to buy every overrated player, is just what the Premier League needs.

Millwall will always be the laughing stock of the Championship, their Messiah ****ed off to Norwich, their players look like thugs, their fans are thugs and they get ****ed up by West Ham every time they play.

Well some people seem to enjoy it and I'm not criticising anyone for partaking in a bit of wumming but...I did prefer the way we dealt with League One. We treated other teams with respect and were probably more respected for that.

I never claimed to be Mother Theresa! So I joined in a bit. I'm not slating anyone for doing it, just saying it is beginning to get on my nerves, partly because I think our mouths are writing cheques our team cannot cash at the minute.
 
Maybe it's an age thing - I'm 5 months off 50 and find the wummin ****in puerile.

Local rivalries aside, to my mind it's a sad no-life bastard who gets a kick out of anothers misery - whatever the cause.

Just my t'pence worth, I'll get me coat.....
 
To me, it doesn't matter what we achieve in the league. I'm a Leicester fan, will always be a Leicester fan, and wouldn't swap position with any fan in world. It's not that we have more money, better players or that we're in a better league that matters - It's about pride - there maybe richer clubs, bigger fanbases, better teams out there - but for me, there's no better club, and I will hammer that point home whether we're top of the league, bottom, or drop out of the football league altogether! So I'll defend the club against Leeds fans, Forest fans, Bristol City fans or Cov fans, because the way I see it, they all support inferior clubs and don't have the right to knock us!
 
I remember a time when this board was just fields....you could go down to the match at filbert street,have 20 pints 5 pies and a program and still have change from a penny..arthur rowley scored 137 goals before christmas..and just got a firm handshake.. we used to let leeds and forest fans stay over at our houses on boxing day and have use of the missus...it was a happier time of peace and love...except for the fooking germans...

Tell ya what, going through the darkest hours in league 1 shows who the real supporters are...
 
View from the outside.

This summer, while most Championship teams worried about strengthening their teams, Leicester went out & seemed to buy a expensive quality player what seemed like every other day. At one stage it seemed if a player was available LCFC were in for him, & 90% got him!
So envy starts rearing its ugly little head. Then, the gloating starts, usually this is a small percentage of fans, but unfortunatly Leicesters small percentage were very loud. So then a little rage with a touch of spite gets added.
Now, to make it all pop, all you need is a tad of failure......& bingo.
Myself, well I'm not too bothered, West Ham should be streets ahead of everyone with Parker & co in the ranks, so I'll save my 'want'emtofail' for them alone.

I suspect that the higher up the pyramid you get, the worse the experience of actually supporting a team gets. So I want Leicester to get to the Premier League because I want them to be successful, even though this means being part of a commercial machine I hate, higher prices for everything from parking to pies and the fact that wins are sometimes few and far between in the top flight.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm only tempted to wum if other fans are doing so to us, or just generally talking about us in a negative way.

I don't think people just go out of their way to take the piss and wind other fans up without encouragement.

Absolutely, you'll get fans supporting your club that know nothing about the players or the club itself, using it like a fashion accessory.

I think everyone enjoyed League 1 but that was because we were winning most of the time. I'm sure it would have been a much worse experience if we'd been down there for 3 years like Leeds and Forest were. Remember what it was like the day we got relegated? Seeing **** clubs like Coventry and Plymouth laughing their arses off? because they were in a higher league than us? And it's those kind of memories that lead people to wum, people want revenge for when others rubbed salt into their wounds.

At the end of the day football is about success and whilst I enjoyed League 1 for the change of winning, long term it would be ****. I don't want to pay money to see us playing route one football against Yeovil. People say they loved the old fashioned away ends etc. but are those people forgetting that half the time we were in a modern ground lass than two-thirds full? Personally I can't wait for a full home stadium with full away ends, I want more experiences like the Man City games last season, it was a great atmosphere.

As for the thread, I'd rather be loved than hated, but if we're successful than we'll just have to get use to being loathed. I too liked the League One days, although couldn't have stomached another season down there. Us and Leeds were kinda like Liverpool and Man Utd of the third div.....I'll let you work out who was who ;)
