Would it be too much to ask for, if we could just have a nice comfortable win soon? I mean the feeling of pure elation when we get a last minute winner is amazing, but I would just like us to have a nice non nervy finish. Is a comfortable 2-0 win too much to ask for? Just for the sake of my nerves, which in recent times, have been shot to pieces with our last minute antics.
It would make a change. If we can show that we can control a game for the full 90mins and come out with a convincing win, it would be a great show of intent as well as a sign of significant progress in a very short space of time. Here's hoping eh?
Never relax even at 2-0 with SAFC, unless there's a minute to go. I like syds comment a boring 3-0 win. Confidence must be soaring but fatigue may kick in. I'd settle for a point now. Wouldn't be a disaster.
Thats the realistic view. But looking towards the peterbrough game, thats where the intent should be. Would be a massive confidence boost if we cna go down there and just play a simple effective game and walk away with a comfortable win. but anything can happen in the FA Cup.
I'm still a bit apprehensive for tomorrow, there is a syndrome called 'Sunderland'. You think everything's going to be alright, then BAM comes the drossing from the basement club!
To be honest, after the last 10 months, just to see any kind of win is fantastic. Mon has rekindled the fire at the SOL and we now play from second 1 to the very last second of the game. We carry intent, threat, incredible endeavour and effort and a fantastic team spirit. That's a dynamic combination in any sport, at any level.
I read a lot of "live text" reports saying how tired our players looked after Wigan's goal - amazing to think that 52 hours earlier they kicked off against the "Champions Elect" and strained every sinew and mustered every ounce of strength possible but still managed to come up with this - One of the worst injury lists in the league and we've taken six points from 2 games!! crazy doesn't even cover it!
