I know GT had to do something urgent/drastic with the squad as we very poor, but do you think he is tinkering too much with loan players?, after all their allegiance's rest elsewhere, and i somehow do feel a bit detached not having our own players to encourage on a cold damp Saturday afternoon ....If we do get a steady run of results going, its not going to be made on a solid basis as loane's can come and go whenever their respected club wants them back ....Im not to sure about the decision made on Hector either, ok, he made some howlers, but overhaul is game was quite good, perhaps a little more coaching on concentrating more... as his positional play was very good....any thoughts
Lower league clubs need loanees. It's always going to be hit & miss but we'd never have seen some of the players we have without it. And that might include some who've become contracted players (Wright, Grandison). I don't worry about player allegiances. Their primary allegiance, whether they're loanees or contracted, is always likely to be to their own careers and that should align with whichever club they're representing at the time. If they have the right character it's not an issue - badge kissers aren't needed. I also wish we'd kept Hector on. Classy player who'll go on improving but, sadly, not with us.
Seems to have been an attitude problem, allegedly, as far as Hector was concerned. My main gripe was the constant tinkering with the team selection. Nice to see it unchanged for the last 2 games and barring injury this should continue against Oldham even allowing for the incoming Gayle (no that's not due until Saturday night). JJ in the Football League team of the week. Well done!!!!
Don't get me wrong i also think lower league clubs need and benefit from loan players, but two or three loan'es tops i think, to gain promotion or fight for survival you need a tight bunch of lads who can work with each other and know each others game, with loan players the team gets fragmented, players get pulled out of position and unsure what their roll is, and when the do finally hit a settled streak they are shipped back to their respective clubs....
was it a certain duke of turner who marched 10 loanees to league 1 and sadly marched them down again. this time the duke will keep those who perform and dump the other one. our old duke had edgar street dancing in the aisles, similar may happen at the greenhous. we have had 2 good games, confidence reigns. tinkerin in my book would be changing a winning team an gt aint going down that route is he.
