Robert Madley, the match official at the centre of a penalty controversy in the 3-3 draw between Swansea and Stoke, has not been given a Barclays Premier League game to referee this weekend. Madley decided Wayne Routledge had handled in the penalty area during stoppage time and Stoke equalised from the spot. Afterwards Swansea manager Michael Laudrup claimed Madley owed him and his players an apology. However, referee Andre Marriner, who was criticised by West Brom for awarding Chelsea a late penalty in the last round of top-flight action, has been put in charge of Saturday's fixture between Fulham and Swansea.. it's gets worse he's just as incompetent .My hopes for a positive result has gone out the window ,thick as thieves the refs association .
I wonder what the odds are on us getting a penalty on Saturday - with him reffing i wouldn't mind a flutter.
The refs are a law unto themselves i can see Madley texting Marriner telling him to give us **** after the critisism he got after the crap reffing of that game.
It's easy to blame refs when results go wrong but they do a good job overall. Football clubs should always play to the ref's whistle and stop moaning every 5 minutes, clubs are happy when a wrong decision goes their way so accept all decisions regardless what you think because the ref is the only decision on penalties that count..
But they can and do affect results no matter how well a cheated team may play. I saw that movie with Pele and Stalone!!!!
Its swings and roundabouts, Some go your way and some dont but to moan about it is pointless as the ref's decision is final. With red cards they can be overturned but they will never overturn a penalty after the game so you might as well just say in your opinion the ref got it wrong and move on....its over the game has ended..
