Yea, I think its ridiculous to be honest. In this age, its either instant success or utter failure. History tells us that clubs without consistency tend to get relegated or stagnate, best hope is to make a well thought decision on the manager and take time on the appointment then give him some unconditional backing for at least a little while. 13 games is a joke, 5 games into a season is a bigger one.
Utterly ridiculous, he is known for wanting his team to play proper football, that won't happen overnight, the games that they've lost they have been a tad unlucky with most of them according to my Sunderland friends!
I could see Sunderland doing a QPR and finishing bottom by a distance.The proof of the pudding will be if they survive.I am a little uneasier about us with him gone,especially if RDM turns out to be his successor.
I'm not sure it was because of results. Controversey followed him wherever he went and I think it got a bit embarrassing in the end, the video of him going over to the Sunderland was frankly bizzare.
Absolutely, he'd clearly lost the dressing room as well - how could he not have after some of the comments he had made to the media about the players? - and apparently there was some kind of bust up on the training ground yesterday that was the straw that broke the camel's proverbial. He may want to "play football the right way" but above all that the bloke is clearly an A grade idiot, and repeatedly telling everyone he's "never going to change" must hardly be doing him any favours.
We're not in a position to say too early or not because we have no idea what really happened on Sunday. I'm personally disappointed he's gone, but only because I think Sunderland are much more likely to get their act together now and they're probably one of our relegation rivals.
I think it was the right decision. Its not like they have been unlucky with results and put in good performances. I think the main issue i his management style which clearly isnt working. I think if they didnt think its working out best to make the decision early which allows someone most of the season to come in and save the club from relegation.
when you look at that sunderland squad, i think whoever takes over is in for a tough time. the squad has a few good individuals but the rest of it is absolutely all over the place, totally lopsided. this was why i predicted sunderland would finish in the drop zone this season, because giving di canio a free reign during the summer would prove costly not just for him, but for his successor

Well actually we played well against Fulham at home and should have won comfortably, and were only beaten by Arsenal due to a bizarre decision by the ref..So not entirely true..
