Celtic have announced that teenage striker Tony Watt has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2016. Former Airdrie star Watt has made the breakthrough to regular first team football under Neil Lennon this season and scored the winner in Celtic's memorable win against Barcelona earlier this month. Lennon had already confirmed that talks had begun with the talented youngster about an improved contract and following successful discussions Watt has now pledged his long-term future to the club. He had previously signed a three-year deal when joining Celtic from Airdrie in a £50,000 deal in 2011. "I´m delighted to have signed this new contract." Watt told Celtic's official website. "I´m a Celtic fan and this is where I want to play my football. "The last couple of weeks have been incredible, and to sign the contract just a week after scoring against Barcelona is brilliant. "I know I´ve still got a lot of hard work ahead of me in my career, but it´s great to know that I´ll be here as part of this exciting young team the manager´s building at Celtic." http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...ny-watt-signs-contract-extension-at-parkhead/
Will Charles Green allow us to sign good players!!! Surely this harms Rangers in the long term .Great news imagine how good he will be in 3 years
Thomas won't be a problem for you if he does go the Burchill road. Didn't you say you wouldn't go near a game. Harry I hope that many more young Celts are signing new long term contracts before the summer.
