Tony Pulis fining Crystal Palace duo Jerome Thomas and Marouane Chamakh to eradicate diving 'disease' Mar 02, 2014 22:30 By Andrew Gwilym The Eagles boss is taking a hardline approach with his own squad after the duo both hit the deck in the 1-1 draw with Swansea please log in to view this image Jan KrugerFall guys: Pulis doesn't want his players conning the referee Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis will fine Jerome Thomas and Marouane Chamakh as he looks to eradicate the diving âdiseaseâ from his squad. Substitute Thomas tried to con referee Mike Dean into awarding Palace a penalty in their 1-1 draw with Swansea, but he was booked by the official after tumbling with Jose Canas closing in on him. Chamakh, meanwhile, went to ground under pressure from Chico Flores in the first half at the Liberty Stadium. Pulis has made clear his distaste of diving, and called for Liverpoolâs Luis Suarez to be banned after the Uruguayan dived trying to win a penalty against his former club Stoke. Pulis revealed Thomas had been to apologise to referee Dean after the game. âI have already spoken to Jerome. I think he has fallen over at any touch. He will get fined for that,â said Pulis. âChamakh did it in the first half and he will get fined as well. Itâs a disease weâre almost rid of, but if people do it, theyâve got to be reminded itâs not right.â http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tony-pulis-fining-crystal-palace-3200542#ixzz2uqeLOrjd Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
Saw his interview on MOTD, it embaarasses the likes of SAF, Wenger and all the other managers who endorse diving. I remember SAF once saying ronaldo should have got a penalty for a zero contact dive because he was getting out of the way so he didn't get hurt. That is one of the most clueless things I ever heard a manager say. I really wish interviewers would stop sitting on the fence and start asking managers why their players are cheating, ask them if they practice it at training etc.
From the Madrid derby game today, Flyer will like this clip of Pepe going down like a sack of spuds for which the ref rewarded him with a yellow card.
With Pulis as manager we would have automatic promotion. Can't stand his style of play but he's very effective as a manager.
