Didn't take long, nothing surprises me in football anymore...Not my type of manager TBH, but 10 games is a bit harsh for any manager....more to that IMO
Never liked the bloke, arrogant, out of date, better choices out there, have no sympathy, I expect his head got in the way of his arse as usual, such is life.
Pulis is one football manager who most City fans absolutely HATE - possibly more hate Pulis than Lee Johnson - and yet he has a better CV with what he achieved at Stoke. I can't say I hate him - or like him. I don't like his style of football, but, like with Warnock, it works.
Me, I don't hate him or LJ, I am sure they did the best that they could wherever they were or are, sadly these days you are in the hands of about 30 + overpaid badge kissing players, whose only loyalty is usually to their bank accounts and their blood sucking agents and in the background there are owners and their 'chief executives', who make outrageous decision after outrageous decision and constantly interfere with the football side of things. An ex pro friend of mine was an apprentice with Pulis at the gas and they have been close friends ever since and another friend met him at an event at AFC Bournemouth, where they both attended with their grandsons, both have told me, what a quiet unassuming man he is and really good company. My view is that being a football manager eventually grinds the nicest of people down and you end up seeing somebody unrecognisable on screen, like LJ up to the ManU game and then after. I do hate his style of football, as I do with Warnock and even to a degree Jose Mourinho (who plays a similar game but with higher quality players).
I like the cut of your jib Jiffie especially the bit about interference and the badge kissers. Here we are again heading in to a transfer window and I heard it on the grapevine that City were thinking about creating a planning department, for some reason, and then the word came down from on high that it didn't make any sense and it would be consigned to the same rubbish tip where the 5 pillars still lie wondering what the heck happened. I have truly given up on the faint hope that reason and common sense will eventually land at the doorsteps of those who run Bristol City and in my books they all need to take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves whether they are worth the sums of money they suck from the bank or are they prepared to just follow the same greedy path followed by a lot of their employees who kick a ball once in a while?
