Jordan Rhodes's five-goal trick for Huddersfield stuns Wycombe League One 2011-12 Wycombe 0 Huddersfield 6 Gobern 10, Rhodes 19, Rhodes 25, Rhodes 49, Rhodes 58, Rhodes 69 Jordan Rhodes celebrates scoring Huddersfield's sixth – and his fifth – against Wycome. Photograph: Peter Cziborra/Action Images Jordan Rhodes continued his rich run of form by scoring five of Huddersfield's six goals against Wycombe Wanderers as the Terriers climbed to third in the League One table. Oscar Gobern opened the scoring for Huddersfield with a header after 10 minutes but Rhodes showed why he continues to makes headlines by striking twice before half-time. The 21-year-old scored all of Huddersfield's goals in the 4-4 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last month but he went one better on Friday night at Adams Park, adding a second-half hat-trick in front of the watching scouts to silence the Wycombe fans. The young striker – who has now scored 25 league goals this season – claimed not to be concerned by the interest in him this transfer window, saying after the game: "I am just trying to do my best and play as well as I can in each game. Scouts could be watching anyone, I do not take any notice of them."

The 21-year-old Scotland international is on a remarkable run of form having scored 19 League One goals in just 16 starts this season, while also bagging hat-tricks for his country's Under 21 side. That has led to definite interest from SPL giants Celtic, as well as Norwich, QPR and West Ham, the latter of which have had a bid of around £3million rejected out of hand. Despite issuing a hands off warning to suitors, the promotion-chasing Terriers would consider opening talks with should a bidding war take the striker's price about £4m. As it stands cash-strapped Everton would be unable to match such an amount but Bill Kenwright would suggest payment over installments, according to the Daily Mirror. Signing Rhodes would not be the first time the Toffees have taken a punt on lower league players, having secured Jermaine Beckford's services following the end of the striker's contract with Leeds. He, though, lasted just one season. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...uddersfields-Jordan-Rhodes.html#ixzz1iiqErtE2
