QPR chairman Tony Fernandes says he has got his "dream manager" to replace Harry Redknapp, who resigned last week. The 50-year-old businessman said no announcement was imminent and that it would "take a while" to complete. Tim Sherwood was contacted about the job, while Derby boss Steve McClaren and Real Madrid assistant Paul Clement were also in the frame - links apparently dismissed by Fernandes. "Still a bit to go but I'm very happy," the Malaysian said on Twitter. "Think I have got my dream manager. Not what anyone thinks. Press all wrong."

! piss poor season followed by a decent one does not make a Premier League manager it would be a hell of a jump from League 2.
Former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is not being considered for the role. Laudrup is currently managing Qatari side Lekhwiya and had been the bookmakers' favourite, but is not believed to be in the running. His agent Bayram Tutumla told BBC Sport that Laudrup wouldn't be moving anywhere until at least the summer when his current deal runs out, as "it's not easy to break a contract". Tutumla added: "It is normal that people want Michael - he likes the Premier League."
