Absolutely top man. Love this guy. Call me simple or naive but I believe this fella and I think he will get us back to the PL in due course.
Good interview, I thought. Said that the shareholders wouldn't be walking away, and shoulder the responsibility of any fine
Been trying to find it on I-player but it's not up yet. A lot of good stuff, but on FFP that the shareholders would take the hit.
Still committed. Money from houses - Genesis - for the new stadium. Did not deny or confirm LC stadium. Club in good place now with FFP so no concern for the future. Chris Ramsey doing well in academy - think we can agree with that? Shareholders will take the FFP hit - actually sounded cheerful about it. Painful lessons learned but assured that bolder and much wiser board in charge now. Again, think we've seen evidence of that. Asked fans to be patient and mentioned a 'few years' in the championship. Didn't realise he was such good mates with Branson - employed by him at Virgin, consulted with RB re his Air Asia X and has been to Necker Island with him.. Thought that was interesting - possible future investor?? Interviewers were kind to him but really very reassuring indeed.
I thought the most surreal thing he said was he originally started out as an auditor, FFS how could somebody with that training be such a dud at football finances? Other than that a great interview and I think he's now realised there's more to the club than just what happens on the pitch, we should all be a lot more reassured about the future now...
thought it was a positive interview, poor bloke didn't think people like Bosinga and Cesar existed. He has learnt an expensive lesson
Notwithstanding the many mistakes made in our Premier League days, which he fully admits, I've always thought that we are very lucky to have him and his fellow shareholders in charge. He sounds fully committed for the long term and appears to have a plan to improve the club in a sustainable way. It is reassuring to hear the owners are fully prepared to cover the inevitable hit from FFP and that Old Oak Common is still very much on his agenda.
More book-plugging in the Standard..... https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...e-but-can-finally-raise-a-smile-a3685296.html He certainly seems to be in for the long haul with Rangers. “I’ll eventually exit AirAsia because I am almost done with what I can do there. QPR, there is a long way to go. I love it. My dream would be to go to Under-23 games, Under-18 games, everything. I think there will be a point when I won’t be chairman any more — leadership always needs to be refreshed — but I’ll always have a share in QPR.”
I don't recall QPR being an angry club when he took over. We'd just been promoted to the Prem and there was a buzz about all things QPR. The club certainly lacked structure and facilities, and we were thrown into chaos when the Goons decided to sell. Perhaps that's what TF means. He's talking big again, but we've had all that before. QPR fans have to distinguish between his high aims and the reality of where we are. He's a decent bloke, but if he does hang around, he has to prove himself.
