FRAIZER Campbell and Connor Wickham lead the line in Sunderland’s opening pre-season game in South Korea’s Peace Cup today.

With Stephane Sessegnon and Ji Dong-won both absent from the tournament, Martin O’Neill handed Campbell and Wickham the chance to make an early impression during the pre-season campaign.

Elsewhere, David Meyler was included in the starting line-up while new signing Carlos Cuellar was left on the bench for clash with Korean outfit Seongnam.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Brown, Bramble, Turner, Colback, Meyler, Cattermole, Gardner, Richardson, Campbell, Wickham. Subs: Wilson, Pickford, Egan, Adams, Cuellar, Laing, Knott, Vaughan, Reed, Deacon, Noble, Lynch.

Pretty strong line up. Nice to see we are taking it seriously. Good money to be earned hopefully.

Is it on any TV channel?

Vaughan on the bench out of the midfield lads, could he be leaving this summer?

If we were never in it we could have never won it, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I managed to find a link for some of the game and they were running rings round us for what I saw but they are twenty games into their season so it is to be expected.

Wickham put in a fine performance though and I liked the look of Meyler in midfield. The rest were either average or poor.

    Early days yet.
