Anyone know who will be playing? I'd be tempted to play a half decent side with Barnsley up next and the hope of a half decent cup run.

Cairney, cam and prozzer have to play, they really need to impress and hit some stride if they want to start pushing for the first team. I'd be tempted to drop Evans and one of Chezzy or Hobbs in but reluctant to play most the first team to keep them fresh for a tough game on satdee. I'd also switch to a 4-3-3 to get the best out of who we have and play them in positions they are comfortable with.

    Butter gloves
    Rosey Hobbs Bruce Daws
    Oily Evans Cairney
    Simpson Prozzer Stewart

Swap Evans for Mckenna and Hobbs for Macca, and that will be the team. As for the formation it will probably change throughout the game.

    Jakupovic
    Rosenior McShane Bruce Dawson
    Olofinjana McKenna Cairney
    Simpson Proschwitz Stewart

Is the team I think he should play, I really want it to be Evans who starts rather than McKenna because Macca was dire in the reverse fixture... Oli was great for once, Stewart's chance to show some passion and desire for once, Prossies' time to shine, Simpson to make up for the penalty miss, Dawson to get outsprinted and turned over.

    I can't see us winning.

That team is more than capable of beating Orient. I hope they give a better account of themselves tonight.

That will be the team and it would be nice for the Jak to keep a clean sheet

Orient will be a lot tougher at home especially as they know they outplayed us at the KC.
SB should have played tonight's team in the recent reserve game to give them more chance to gel, because even though our players are better on paper they have more to play for.

I highly doubt it will start 4-3-3 it will most likely be the same 3-5-2 again and well get trounced. No wonder cam looked **** a forward playing at left back. I'd also include Evans as I'd drop him out for Saturday dropping Koren back to midfield where he can pull the strings for us and stick the better performing forward from tonight alongside Aluku.

That'll be the team, but it'll be 4-4-2. Would like to see Prozzy bang a few in. He didnt play well against Orient or the Piggies really, but its a goal and an assist in 2 games. I really want to see him in the team when Elmo puts his crosses in. Pboro is an ideal game for him to start in the league too.

I agree, hope Prozzy has a good game tonight and forces Steve Bruce's hand for Saturday. Intersting comment from Bullshit Man re Evans playing and Koren slotting in midfield on Saturday

I'm actually starting to look forward to tonight! I was looking at an Orient board earlier and they too are questioning the value of the FA Cup. With the JPT as well they have midweek games 5 weeks in a row.

One thing that never comes up when discussing the value of the prize money and the extra revenue that cup games bring. This may not seem significant but with the Financial Fair Play rules coming in the extra revenue could be important and even the difference between meeting the targets or getting sanctioned.

City's turnover in 2011/12 was £11M. If we got through to the 6th round for example, that would give us £347,500 in prize money. Gate revenue is split equally between the teams, less a levy to the FA. So let's say 3 games, with 10,000 per game and £15 tickets. That's just over £200K per team after the FA levy. So basically it boosts revenues by 20% (then there's the concessions, etc).

Not this season obviously, but in the future. It might make more teams take the cup seriously again.

It's the wealth of Clubs now that have devalued it. Former players that get brought in to be pundits for the Cup Highlights and speak of how much it meant to them, were when Clubs weren't as rich as they were now. There's a difference between record signings being £800,000 and £80million...

With most Clubs in the Top 2 tiers having massive funds now, even us, the few little £100,000's here and there, doesn't go to much and there's not much of an incentive anymore. The lower Clubs however, have meaning now because that's enough for a couple of signings.

I think once FFP comes into action, Clubs may start to take the Competition a little more seriously.

Also, the incentive for Promotion is a lot better than a Cup Run, so Clubs focus on Promotion. The Capital One Cup should be a Cup for only the Football League teams. The Premier League shouldn't be involved in that one. That would then create a Cup competition which teams from League 2 to the Championship can begin to value and try for.

I'd like to see a few changes from the last cup game. The team needs a bit more shape.

    Jak
    Macca - Bruce - Daws
    Elmo - Cairney - Evans - Olifinjana - Rosie
    Simmo - Prozzy

    or

    Jak
    Rosie - Macca - Bruce - Daws
    Evans - Cairney - Oli
    Stewart - Prozzy - Simpson

We definitely need a couple of cool heads and a little more quality, just to see us through. Like adding Hobbs into defence, Evans/Elmo in midfield, just to add a bit more solidity and attacking threat.

    They're a Football League side? <laugh>

With them being in League 2, it means a lot more to them and could well fund their possible Promotion Push.

McKenna and Stewart are the only doubts for me. After their displays in the first game, will Bruce risk starting them?

Yes but playing Wigan, Arsenal & Villa will have given them much needed revenue

I think he'd rather risk starting them than Evans and Brady.

That's a fair and valid point, however, if the Capital One Cup was only for Football League Teams, the whole Football League's attitude for the Competition would improve rather than just Bradford's.

There's a lack of respect for it, and understandably so, it's classed as a distraction and an annoying fixture that could potentially de-rail a team's Season. Therefore, changing the whole image of the Trophy, by changing those who participate, would then make for better chances for other sides to really push for results in the Competition.

It won't happen, but things like that need to if the FA want Clubs to respect the Cup's again.

Brady's ineligible. I think he will start with the same team as the first game but Evans will be on the bench I would have thought
