Happy with the result and a point was I felt a fair result but **** me that ref was totally inept, possibly the most useless twat I've ever seen, Leeds got 85% of the decisions from him and chatting with a few mates from Wakefield who came down they thought he was useless as well.

The FA can shove this respect bollocks right up their arse if this twat is the best they can offer up to officiate games!

Rant over and where's me beer?

Don't worry, I'm on the way back from Selhurst Park and I've never been so distraught by every official on the field. EVERY challenge, the Palace player went down, won the free kick and that was the pattern all match.

To every bodies surprise, they got 2 penalties which they were clearly playing for all night. Zaha is gonna be well suited to Premier League football as he can't stay on his two feet for more than 3 seconds...

I've never been so convinced of official bribery in my life. It was sickening.

The corner before half time was one of the worst bits of refereeing I've ever seen. We were only about 20 seconds into the minute of time added on and he blows the whistle...while the ball is out of play and before we take the corner. Madness.

Is it time for video replays and "referrals" to a second source it wouldn't spoil the flow anymore than the current refs decisions when they keep getting conned by the divers. It might stop all the protestations by angry players too_Obviously the clock to be stopped during the referral.

I am with you on that ... also watched some of the highlights of the Man United game last night - in the first half Vidic hits the post with a header from a corner and Wellback appears to screw up the rebound until you see that his shirt is being pulled so hard from behind that he can't really get to the ball - you'd only need a few penalties to be awarded for such incidents to cut them out - the penalty area, set-piece 'wrestling' is making a mockery of the rules and needs to be stamped out immediately .. IMHO

He was offside though Fosse, but two wrongs don't make a right and I agree with you entirely on that.

The worst example I've seen recently was in the Celtic vs Juventus match. Juventus "defending" at corners was, well... ridiculous.

I swear they went through a period of giving those, but seem to have stopped, which is a shame.

Quite right Jack - that was appalling - I thought they were experimenting with another official behind the goal this season? - if so I can't begin to think about what he was watching whilst all the shenanigans were going on - the one Juve dedfender with the slavic name could have been sent off half a dozen times in that game ... just needs a ref brave enough to go out with the view that if it takes 10 pens in one game to sort it out then so be it ... as soon as you grab a hold of an opposition players shirt that is a foul - give it.

.. arguably the worst but not alone .. what i really find irritating is the response from managers of teams caught doing it along the lines of "yeh but if you give that you'd have to give another ten" .. bloody give 'em!!! as soon as that starts to hit your goal difference and suspensions, you'll soon be telling your players to cut it out you thick twat!

It has crept into the game insidiously over the last 5 or 6 years and needs to be cured with a swift injection of penicilin ..

    Spot on.

Some things in football really are stupid.

Like "he'd have sent him off if he did that later on in the game".

And the "if he hadn't already been booked, that would have been a yellow".

    Yeah, absolutely ridiculous.

I just wish referees could be more brave in circumstances like that.

The other 'concept' that irritates me is that what constitutes an immediate free kick anywhere else on the pitch often doesn't if it's in the penalty area .. that is complete bollox and a sure sign that refs are intimidated by the potential reaction of managers etc (and some managers more than others) ... a foul is a foul is a foul ... if it happens in the penalty ares and is not an indirect free-kick offence it is a penalty ... give it.

The players have a lot to answer for mind - they are totally lacking in respect - yes I think the ref in the Man United game last night got the sending off wrong - but that doesn't justifiy the likes of Rio (R-E-S-P-E-C-T) Ferdinand getting in his face at the final whistle with his ironic applauding - I can't abide double standards ... the six nations is back on this weekend and I just love the way the rugby boys behave - real respect for the refs from these huge guys that are for more intimidating physically than Rio could ever dream of .. he should be made to watch.

I don't know if it's the case all round the Championship but we hardly ever seem to get penalties any more. Yet almost every game there's a foul or handball in the area! I wonder if giving penalties is frowned upon by the football league so refs do it as little as possible.

Us not getting penalties seems to have happened for years now.
