good game and a solid performance, certainly werent outplayed by oposition in the league above. if we could defend corners (a worry that still seems to remain from last season) then we would have been alright as we did well to stiffle out most of orients attacking flare.

thought flitney looked good, some good saves and a couple of good claims from crosses. no chance with the goal

personally i dont think the 4-5-1 will work as kedwell gets too isolated and he hasnt got the work ethic to be alone up there he needs player to feed off and to feed off him. personally i'd like to see us play a 4-1-2 (wingers) -2-1 at home which can then be switched to 4-2-2-1-1 away from home or when we need to defend. just think it will save the 3 cm and wingers all powering forward and then being lost when we need them to defend on quick breaks. plus it will put players up closer to kedwell so when we go hoof ball hes got targets to hit with flicks and when he brings the ball down.

however this is based on us not finding another striker to play up top with kedwell (either from within or elsewhere) personally i though cowan-hall and ford both looked like they were worth another look and both showed glimpses of promise as did lamb however i was disappointed with his effort on goal mid second half with his left foot, could be a weakness as he didnt seem to generate any power and just seemed to swing at the ball

I've been trying to think of what to say about last night, silly I know but I left the ground feeling disappointed.

Flitney saved us from a hammering in the first half after our defense kept getting it wrong? yes Frampton and Lawrence were both playing so that's a worry. The positive was the performance of Flitney, whilst I along with many weren't sure if he was up to the task, last night he was asked the questions and passed the test.

In the second half we looked a lot more likely to score (and were unlucky not to) It is sad that a lot of that threat was from the lads on trial.

maybe we need to follow jokeykids example and play with 11 outfield players:emoticon-0105-wink:

no goals against millwall or orient at home. could goals be a problem at home again this season?
