Here are the 4 options on the agenda relating to the Sports Stadium. Which of these do you think is the most likely decision? Option 1 – The Council to stop work on the Community Stadium and Sports Project proposed on the Wycombe Air Park site. This effectively ends the scheme, for it is unlikely that any speculative planning application would be submitted by the Clubs for this or alternative sites, given the land availability and funding certainty required; or Option 2 – The Improvement and Review Commission be requested to review the Strategic Outline Business Case, with community involvement, with a report back to Cabinet on the 31 October 2011; or Option 3– The Council to agree to move to Full Business Case on the Wycombe Air Park site by 31 October 2011, with Improvement & Review Committee and community involvement and in the meantime to authorise the entering into of a collaboration agreement based on the summary of the principal terms appended to this report, with the detailed terms being approved by the Major Projects and Property Executive in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Property and Economic Development; or Option 4 – That the Clubs be asked to investigate further, at no cost to the Council, split site options with the existing stadium being redeveloped on the existing site, in line with the Improvement and Review Commission’s proposals. Full Agenda
I would like to think Option 4 would be the outcome but this would be a major U Turn unless the existing report explaining why it is a non runner can be publicly torn to shreds. I suspect there will be heated arguments regarding its continuation with the major opposition to the project being the lack of a sound business case. Therefore I suspect that the project team will be given the opportunity to prove conclusively that the scheme is financially viable, or else.
Option 6. Move to Spain and spend pointless days of my sad existence roaming opposition threads. Im not sure what im more suprised about, Monarch knowing a bit about Geography or being able to count.
Ron, When are you going to print the English version, I can't make head nor tail of the French version!
This is obviously second guessing what comes next. Maybe Hayes will surprise us but can't see it somehow. How many rate payers are there in Wycombe and surrounding areas? Why can't WDC up the rates by (say) £1 pm and it all goes into a WWFC Trust Fund (so that Hayes can't touch it). Then gradually the fans take over control of the club. A pea brain idea maybe but we have to think of something. Any ideas how fans can get back control with or without WDC's help? Personally, I feel WDC should help in whatever way it can.
Not sure that Hayes would want to us go into administration. When that happens doesn't the failing business only have to commit to paying a few pence in the pound to debtors - that being the case Hayes wouldn't take a hefty hit against his £6m in loan notes. Although knowing him he probably has a way to avoid this. Anyone know any football mad Saudi princes ?
