We didn't sound like world beaters and Vale gave us a bit of fight but in the end we trotted out winners, and these are the types of games where your mettle is tested to the fullest and we came out on top. Job done and let's move onwards and upwards.
I think Cotterell summed it up perfectly, we were very sloppy in places but when we did play a bit of football we looked very good. I think conceding the goal would have hurt them and Cotts will be having the word about that and the sloppiness, which should get them focused for the harder game at the weekend
