Right I know I will get a lot of stick for this but....

.....I JUST DONT RATE HIM. This isn't just bassed on saturday, for me he looks like a player who always look's like he's doing alot without actually making any massive contribution. He lack's pace and I think he has such a tame shoot.

I know I will get a lot of stick for this put i just dont get him....

Your entitled to your opinion, mines not quite so negative agreed he's not got an abundance of pace but think his distribution is ok and he can shoot (Watford as an example) he's the best in that position we have so unless that changes Tommy's the man

He's a grafter which is what we need in the prem, particularly if we want to accomodate Tarbs.
Ask yourself, is tommy Smith the main person we need to replace/improve upon to get a better result than last week?

This article is not to highlight he is the worse player i just wanted other people opinions as my mates an I all have different views.

Personally I think Buz looked alot better when he came on Sat he looks like he's gained an yard of pace (hello swords, yes i know you wont agree) and i think he deserves a go.

Also where was PVM got alot of game time in pre-season yet no where to be seen on sat....strange one for me....

Am with you ranger100, 6 goals in over 30 starts in a pretty high scoring championship winning side says it all, I don't think he is anywhere near good enough for the prem.

Having said that he is certainly not our worst player, and does have a bit of a brain and his distribution is OK, but his shots are generally tame. his career stats pretty much say he'll score 1 goal in every 5 games he plays, you would of thought this will be less in the prem so unless he's clocking up tons of assists he will turnout to be a bit of a passenger. IMO

Personally I think Smith is one of our better players. Never gives up and actually runs at people occasionally. From what I've seen he seems an intelligent players that always tries to retain possession rather than lumping a hopeful ball forward like so many other players we have.

Best player on the pitch in the first half. Faded badly in the second as did 10 others.

I can't understand why the only fella getting a let off here is DJ Cambell. Other than being offside for the disallowed goal what did he do exactly?

Mmm... Set us a hard one there QPR100. Tommy's a diligent and combative player. Not highly skilled but poses a threat. It'll be better when Mackie's back, NW will have a choice as to who's the form player.

Guys, this not a reaction to the bad result over the weekend, just dont think the vast majority of our team or squad are good enough at this level. Tommy Smith is the perfect example of this. He is pretty decent at Champ level but not good enough at Prem level. IMO we will not stay up with this team or squad. We have several players available for small fees or even for free and we cant get rid of them. We need to be honest, i presume that NW thought he would have access to enough funds to buy the necessary players to improve our squad, but sadly he has been hung out to dry by the board and he has ended up taking average players from relegated clubs. I hope NW wont get too much flack from he fans in the coming weeks and months
