It was great to see Tommy Smith being instrumental in both goals yesterday. He seems to be the least vaunted of our front four. I think that he has the best attitude and is the most consistent, if not the most spectacular, and thoroughly deserved his success yesterday.

Fantastic attitude, classy the way he tried not to celebrate that goal,
don't think he quite managed it though!

I have a lot of respect for Tommy Smith, a good honest pro. Decent footballer if unspectacular.

How will he fare in the Premiership next season?

Well the Pompey fans rated him quite highly when he played for them there last season. As with a lot of our players he may or may not make the step up but like all of our first team at least, he deserves the chance. A good honest Pro who can strike the ball cleanly. Nelly also seems to rate him quite highly so I think (FA ruling apart) he'll be playing Prem football with us next season.

Has anyone else noticed that was his 100th goal of his career?

We are likely to get a little bit more time on the ball in the Prem and I think that will suit Tommy. He showed his class yesterday, fair play to him.

He's not the best but he's a battler with a bit of a shot and you get the impression he really cares.

For me he's a bit Faulin, not always effective but you feel better when they're in the team.

His work rate and attitude are top draw. He appeared to be the only one really trying towards the end of that dire 0 - 0match against Derby. I think he is desperate for another crack at the Premier League.
