Seems to have passed without mention amidst all the doom and gloom, but Tommy has signed a new contract to keep him at Ipswich until 2014. Six months ago, I wouldn't have cared if he'd walked out of the door at the end of the season, but his performances since January have changed my mind on this. Bearing in mind he's still only 22, there's plenty of scope for further improvement and, hopefully with a new central defensive partner next season, I'm reasonably confident he can kick on and become a mainstay of our defence for years to come.
