From today's "Born or Died" on nufc.com , I think he did bloody well playing in the Fairs Cup final as a 13 year-old :)

    Born Or Died:

1955 Tommy Gibb born, Bathgate. (1968-75)

Midfielder acquired from Patrick Thistle by Joe Harvey at a cost of £45K in August 1968, Tommy made his United debut in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

That was the second game of the season and after marking his first senior appearance at SJP with a goal against Chelsea, Tommy was to remain an ever-present until the end of that campaign.

That included playing in all twelve of the Fairs Cup games, during which he found the net against Feyenoord, Zaragoza & Setubal.

Coming on at Wembley in the 1974 FA Cup Final defeat in place of Jimmy Smith, Gibb enjoyed a love/hate relationship with certain sections of the SJP crowd despite his good service.

He eventually departed on a free to the mackems in 1975, later turning out for Hartlepool United before returning north of the border.
