I see the Doc has signed up till the end of 2012 for Exeter. Could be a master stroke fom Tilsdale depending on which Tommy D turns up.
I read a lot about the fella when he to Wycombe. There has been much said on the Bristol City boards about how he was their best player and was destined for the Prem, but lost it all with bad attitude, smoking and drinking.
He certainly seems to be a loner that just does enough to scrape by. If you're lucky enough to get him settled and happy somewhere then he can produce some awesome stuff, but the slightest issue and he's likely to walk or not put he effort in. All tht said, he is one of the classiest acts to pull on the quarters (in my opinion) and I loved him him as a player. Many managers will think they can get the bet out of him or get him motivated, but he's not for turning. Buy him a beer an a cigar and you might stand more chance!!!
My favourite Doc moment was away against Roherham approx 4yrs ago. He was in the corner of our end by the flag when Reuben Reid was closing in on him. A quick side step and piece of quality left Reid in. Heap on the floor (injured) and the Doc strolled out with he ball. He didn't even touch Reid, which was novelty as he was somewhat renowned for the crunching tackle. A pure piece of brilliance!
What are your memories of the Doc?

what a fantastic player he was on his day. i remember his tough tackling, his non-nonsense attitude BUT there can be serious problems with him. i remember his red card against brentford in our promotion season which probabaly cost us a win. i also think of his red card when he returned to us for bradford, maybe we'll see the same next season!!! if he turns up, this is a fantastic signing for them!

He was a great player but not worth the hassle. Fierce in the tackle and decent passer of the ball, many managers have tried and failed to settle him. I predict he'll play brilliantly for a month or 2, get injured then leave before the end of the season. You heard it here first!!

a real class act its just a shame his head is not screwed on right, always seemed to have so much time and composure on the ball and on his day unplayable, the downside is he has a very short fuse light the touchpaper and watch him go.good luck to him at exeter, looking forward to seeing him play against us.
