It has a different reputation in Ireland (and Wales)... in Scotland, it's seen as a public schoolboy sport.

I was raised in Englandshire so I know the reputation and it is partially true.

Lots of good ****s play rugby though.

I do feel sorry for him sometimes... last week he caught the ball from kick off - under tens on a full size pitch - ran fairly flat out toward the wing , then up the wing evading a few tackles and shrugging some others off got over the line and scored...he came off at the end of the game and the conversation went something like -

RLjunior - dad, dad , did you see my run near the end, nearly the whole length of the field ?

RL - yes..... I did see it...

RLjunior - What did you think ? Good ?

RL - Son, you know I love you, but I don't think you realise the shame you have visited on this family.

I played quite a bit of Rugby whilst in the Army, tough game but the rules were baffling to me, good fun I suppose if you don't mind some eye gouging and biting or you crave cauliflower ears and physical deformities.

I played it at school, forced to, no choice in the matter. I was in the team due to having some basic understanding of the rules I think - the team consisted of me and the top fourteen or so thugs in the school. Think that's why I dislike it now.

If only you had a World beating bus Harry, it would have resembled India with people hanging from the roof etc.
