Mohamed was justifiably MoM today....direct running, commitment and a goal.
But Lockyer is such a prospect. Mr Cool. Unflustered, time on the ball, vision.
Great attitude......when clattered he just gets up asap.
You can't help what thoughts come into your mind, and as he stole the ball
once more from an opponent without actually tackling him I thought Bobby
Moore. I wish I hadn't, because he's nowhere near that level (yet).
But he really is that bit special.

I agree with your view on Lockyer P49. The fact that he is actually playing out of position too makes his performances even more special. We really do need to keep him as the potential that he has will give him a long career in the game and I think he can play at a high level too.

I also agree that Mohamed had a good game. When he signed for us I was delighted as I could remember when he tore us apart. He was exactly what we needed at the start of the season! However even though he got the man of the match today, he was not my 1st choice and neither was Lockyer.

For me, Ollie Clarke was outstanding and is my choice for man of the match. On Seamge's match thread I said to give Clarke and Lockyer a miss today and play O'Toole and Clucas in their place. But I am glad Ward is the manager and not myself as Clarke and Lockyer were both top quality. Clarke shaded it for me though.

Can anyone on here remember Clarke having a bad game for Rovers? I certainly can't.

Lockyer also looks a fine young player - and you can see why every player interviewed in the programme names him as the player that would 'take one for the team'. Every game it seems he's on the wrong end of a pretty bad challenge.

its great seeing these 2 players come from our academy. makes other youngsters be motivated that a team actually looks to their youth. this could be the key in youngsters selecting us as a youth over maybe city or someone else if they want 1st team football <ok>

Ward on the performances of midfield duo, Ollie Clark and Tom Lockyer....

    Ward said:

"They are two of my youngest boys and I am in awe of them a little bit. I have to be careful what I say about the pair of them because I am waiting for them to slow down, but they have both been exceptionally strong again. They are carrying a huge weight on their shoulders in the middle of our team, but they are performing like men at the moment even though their ages tell you something different."
