Tom Kennedy has left by mutual consent. I dont understand because apart from Konchesky he is the only left back at the club. He was also Nigel Pearson last signing before he left for Hull http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11712/8029924/ Maybe this opens the door for Higginbotham to come in as permanent signing
I wondered if something had happened with him behind the scenes. He's not even been named as a sub when we've been very low on defensive numbers and he was playing with the development squad. Shame cause I thought he did really well when he came in last season.
Unless Nigel is planning on signing players it doesn't make an ounce of sense. We are short of numbers at the back so getting rid of another defender help us at all. Maybe we are going to get Higginbotham in on a permanent like he wanted as he can play centre half and cover Konchesky aswell
I for one have never understood why Tom Kennedy never played a lot more, he always looked comfortable on the ball, he could tackle well and cross a good ball but for some reason never got a real chance here under NP!...even more strange considering our defensive problems. Good luck to him where ever he goes and someone going to get yet another one of our players for nothing again!!!
Hoping that this doesn't mean Konchesky will cruise along not really trying hard, as Kennedy was his main competition.
... not the best timing ever that's for sure ... reckon i'll go and dust my old boots off ... let's face it, not going to need a lot to improve on the current defensive performances ..
