Did anyone else think that Tom Ince looked better against leicester than aluko & ramirez did!! Ran at players, opened up the defence and brought other players into the game...I understand Aluko & Ramirez were out of position, but they both looked like they were trying to control a balloon for most of the game!

I think Ramirez did well, and was excellent at Sunderland. Id start Ince, as well as Ramirez, Hernandez and Jela. We have to now we've got absolutely nothing to lose.

The ball boys looked better than Aluko and they were sat on their arses for 90% of the game.

Ramirez was playing in a role that was not suited to him simply because we had nobody else. It worked at Slumberland because we were able to play a counter attacking game which gave him more space, but he was crowded out too much yesterday as Aluko was completely hopeless in front of him. Ramirez, IMHO, is best as the front man in a midfield diamond formation. So if we had Livermore to the left of him Huddlestone to the right and Jela and Abel up front, he would produce the goods. The problem with that is that he would be in competition with Diame, who was arguably our best player before his injury.

A talented player, Thomas Ince. Whether he's as talented as he thinks he is, is another matter, but he's clearly got quite a lot of something.

I was surprised when we farmed him out, especially after the not insignificant bother of getting him here in the first place. It was a head scratcher for me.

I'm glad he's back, I hope it's for good, and I hope he becomes a regular.

we all seem to know everyones best position! so why the hell does bruce keep getting it wrong!! we are failing to create goals, so why does bruce play creative midfielders upfront and leave the finishers out of the game, aluko is best on the left and if your going to play brady instead, don't play aluko at all! i'd like to see the diamond formation that we played against west ham, with huddlestone deep and the attacking players upfront trying to grab the goals. I think bruce has been rocked by how mnay goals we have conceded and is trying to stop that, when all he has to do is get his best players in the right position, starting from defence to the strikers....at the moment I would choose mcshane over bruce & davies and have chester and mcshane in defence!

Hernandez and Jelavic should of started yesterday! its like van gaal leaving falcao and van persie out and putting mata and young up front, with carrick at right back! It makes no sense!

I thought Ramirez did well in a role that isn't his natural position.

I thought Ramirez was really quite poor yesterday.

I wouldn't necessarily say better but he did create an air of anticipation when he was on the ball. Although to me he looked like he was overly eager to make an impression.

I'd give him a start over the next few games in front of Elmo. Robbo in front of Figgy. Livermore & Ramirez in the middle. Hernandez & Jellybitch up top. Go for some throats from the off.

One game is never enough to make a decision.

Just good to have some competition for places. I am all for players playing in the right places, though, and think it's time we put balance (picking a player for their natural role) before names on the team sheet (picking the best players available).

We had three centre forwards on the bench.

Bruce was being fair to those who had played well the other day.

And had an eye on easing back Jelly.

And you could say the impact subs worked, and it was a good idea to hold some players back. Let's face it, if any of our chances went in it would have been a different forum today.

But still wouldn't change the **** first half effort.

I said if any of the chances went in...

It's a fine margin between this sort of thread and posters saying how I inspired his Subs were.

Don t read my post as literally as you have. It was pointing out that the last twenty minutes almost worked

I guess there's different ways of looking at it. Regardless of whether some of those chances went in or not, I'd have called them fixing a terrible starting team rather than inspired substitutions.

It's something he's had to do on numerous occasions this season.

He's a professional football manager not an U11s coach. He should be playing the best players we have available in their best positions.
