http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8007239? Sky Sports understands Tottenham are ready to loan out Tom Huddlestone with Stoke the front-runners for his signature. Huddlestone, who missed most of last season through injury, has been informed he will be allowed to go out on loan to get some regular first-team football under his belt. The England international underwent two ankle operations last season with his last game for Spurs coming against Manchester City last August. Huddlestone is now back to fitness and played on Spurs' pre-season tour of America, but it appears he is down the pecking order at White Hart Lane. Huddlestone was left out of the squad for last weekend's opening day defeat at Newcastle and Andre Villas-Boas is happy to let the former Derby man go out on loan. The 25-year-old is keen to go out on loan so that he can regain his match sharpness after his spell on the sidelines and a number of clubs are chasing his signature. Stoke are thought to be at the front of the queue for Huddlestone with Tony Pulis keen to bring in a creative spark to his midfield.
Sorry Sarg But I've done some research on Tommy H and yep, he's a very good player. Last game he played was August last year? Don't like the thought of having another ex injured Spurs player joining us to be honest. IF he's now FIT fair enough but it seem's he's not fully fit YET.
That's why a loan deal and (hopefully!) a not so hefty loan fee is the best for us. We've got a few centre mids so I think it's a risk worth taking.
Hasn't played a game in 11 months and definatley wont be classed as "STOKE FIT"! Good Player though and definatley an improvement on what we have - subject to getting a game!
http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/story-16775898-detail/story.html STOKE City and Tottenham were planning to get their heads together again today to try to revive Tom Huddlestone's move to the Potteries. City boss Tony Pulis is desperate to add the 25-year-old midfielder to his squad ahead of Friday's 11pm transfer deadline. Pulis liked what he saw after watching Huddlestone in training at Clayton Wood last week and assumed the loan move would go ahead as planned. But concerns over Huddlestone's long-running ankle problem were thrown up by a medical to leave Stoke taking a step back from the seven-figure loan fee and wages. They now want Spurs to agree to a recall clause should Huddlestone's injury flare up again during his stay. Huddlestone, pictured below, came through the youth ranks at Derby County, making his debut as a 16-year-old in their 3-0 home defeat to Stoke on the opening day of the 2003/04 season. He moved to Spurs for £2.5m in 2005 and has made 181 appearances for the club. Meanwhile, Pulis's slim chances of signing Tottenham defender Michael Dawson appear to have receded even further following news that his move to Premier League rivals QPR is back on.
Sgt I would do one of two things here as I think? Huddlestone having past the medical would be O.K. 1. Sign him IF Spurs are willing to sell which I very much doubt they are or. 2. SOD IT and look elsewhere. Just my oppinion, I do not see the point in argy bargy with Spurs for the next few days. If as Pulis is reported is (desperate) and I think we are for a midfielder of his quality. Look at other options.
Sky sports have just said that Huddlestone is definately leaving Tottenham, could he be coming to stoke?
Ric I did'nt see that? No pun intended mate. I just don't see it happening this late on! Loved it when the SS News reporter got tw***d on the head with a football. Must have been one of our midfielders with another miss placed pass...
OH **** Palacios is off to Fulham.. what the odds HE PLAYS first team football? IF he does I will swing for Pulis.. worse still, it's a LOAN deal... very strange this. Also Huddlestone off to Fulham also.. it's getting more ridiculous by the sec..
