Finally confirmed on his twitter this morning that he's accepted a contract elsewhere and will be leaving. No announcement of club yet but suggests it's a Championship club from his message.

Always sad to lose a prolific goalscorer but can't blame him for wanting to play at the highest level. Best of luck Tom!

Oh! That's a shame. Everything had been positive pre-season until this. We all knew he was going but I sort of hoped he had changed his mind, but hey will give Evans chance to prove himself with his own team, without working round existing players. So be it, but pity really.

Having already played for Evans maybe he knew it wasn't worth his while staying:emoticon-0136-giggl

I suppose that while he hadn't signed elsewhere there was always a hope, however remote, that he might stay with us, if only for a year.

But the expected outcome has now occurred, and certainly if he's off to a Championship club then we can hardly begrudge him that. Thanks for (most of) the memories and his obvious commitment and workrate.

Though I still think he was a pillock when he got sent off against Rochdale in 2017.:emoticon-0100-smile

Tom going on a free is the exception, most 20+ strikers are worth at least £1m.
