There are reports being released that suggest that Adebayor is actually going to the ACoN and has joined up with Togo's training camp. The players have been given a couple of days off following the victory against Coventry and there are conflicting reports of where he's headed. The President of Togo's FA seems to think that he's going: “Of course we will go to the competition with Adebayor. We will all be together in South Africa. It is very important to have him because he is our player and team captain.” Pain in the arse if it's true and the need for another striker becomes more apparent.
I read somewhere he had planned to fly out immediately after last Saturday's game, but then didn't because he reckoned he was ill and so couldn't travel.
?? Do you know something PNP?...should I put my house on a result this weekend? We managed with out during his injury, and he'll be back soon, I can't see Togo being there long.
Still eeking out the Togo puns I see Hope this isn't true, I didn't even realise players were leaving for the ACON already.
I'm just waiting to see if any journo's are sad enough to go with the same one, this time! Surely nobody's that desperate for a headline?
Ade Togo to Ghana The plot thickens, just read this in todays Evening Standard... http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...-them-for-african-cup-of-nations-8440919.html
it's true what that report says though, - the whole "will he go", "wont he go" part. Perhaps WE as fans feel it's all short notice, but is this the same for the club? or have they known for much longer? either way, i smell a rat. something's not right here and as I posted in my comment in the Jan Transfer Window thread, I think his days are numbered. - he wouldn't have gone to the ACONS if they were this time last year, especially at such short notice.
I wouldn't be supried if he decided to go because he isn,t getting regular starts for us i agree with you about his day's being numbered
I don't dislike Ade at all, I think he's quality on his day and works hard for the team. But something's just isn't right at the minute. All of this "will he" "wont he" over the ACONS. it's the sort of thing Levy would go mad about if it really was this "short notice". They know something behind the scenes that the fans don't know about IMO.
Ade's body language this season has been pretty poor to be honest, when you think of some of the performances he gave last year (Newcastle H, Liverpool H etc) he looks a far cry from that player. A shame as on his day he's one of the best in the league without question. Fans of Arsenal and City have said that he does tend to get lazy mid-way through a contract (though he's not even ****ing mid-way with us!!!) so it is a bit of a concern. I hope he comes back from ACoN the player that we loaned last season.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20941373 BBC are now saying that he is going. Ade is such an enigma, unplayable on his day and yet a complete passenger when he can't be bothered. I think the trouble with him is that Adebayor will always come first in Adebayor's world and he's a typical case of a massive ego unchecked. If anything ever goes wrong, it's always somebody else's fault. But to be honest, will you really miss him ?
Ade hasn't been great thats for sure, but you could say his injury has put him a 1/4 of a season behind the others. However, with his age and experience I'd like to think he can get himself back up to speed, but he needs to get a move on, its getting to the important part of the season. If he goes, atm we're not missing much, he's been unlucky not to score on a few occasions, we need that luck to change.
Al-Jazeera actually made a worse pun for this than I did. http://www.aljazeera.com/sport/football/2013/01/201318174336426787.html? Adebayor: Togo or not Togo?
