Toffees need to up their game for QPR clash Date: 16th October 2012 at 3:22 pm Written by David Charnley | Comments (0) Former Everton star Ian Snodin believes that the Toffees will have to be at their best if they are to beat QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday. Unlike Everton, Mark Hughesâ side have been having a difficult start to the season, however the Welshman has received a boost of confidence from the clubâs owners. Despite a poor start, QPR have shown their intent by spending a lot of money on players during the summer months, with the influx of players naturally taking time to bed in. Evertonâs fine form this season has not been short of slip ups and when they travel down to the capital, David Moyes will be reminding his players to be on their guard. Snodin believes that they must set out on their travels with the same intent wherever theyâre playing. âThey must get going at full throttle from the first whistle, in which case their quality should shine through in the end,â he told the Liverpool Echo.
Ian Snodin: Everton must be wary of threat of QPR regardless of league position ON THE surface of it Everton could view their visit to bottom of the table Queens Park Rangers as the perfect opportunity to pick up three points and keep their wonderful momentum going. But the cliche about no easy games in the Premier League remains true – and something everyone should remember on Sunday at Loftus Road. It’s certainly not a ground I ever liked going to as a player and it can be a cramped, intimidating atmosphere for some away teams. Mark Hughes is having a tough start to the season but he received the backing of the owners recently, and they have proven their intent by spending a lot of money on the players he has identified over the summer. There was always likely to be a bedding in period, and they will know that’s probably what is hampering them at the moment. Everton must remember what happened at West Brom, and in the first half against Wigan Athletic and realise they cannot afford to give the opposition any signs of hope. They must go there like they are going to Old Trafford or the Emirates and get going at full throttle from the first whistle, in which case their quality should shine through in the end. No sh!t Sherlock. How many times have teams slipped up because they have been playing well and face a team who are having problems, or are of supposed lesser quality, and ease up thinking that it should be an easy/easier win. Happens in the cups all the time ... and don't we know that!
