Question if you were at the game today, how many of that side that took the field would you have in your first team by choice? Most are good squad players at best. For me it would be Jay Simpson & dare i say it McShane. The rest were ****ing dire to say the least. They should have even had a penalty when Bruce junior brought down their attacker. but then again we should have had one too immediately afterwards. Cairney either needs to go see a shrink or be moved on quickly, plays with his back to goal all the time never looks up for that killer pass any more and is so frustrating to watch most of the time. I have seen games when he played for the reserves when he has hit some of the best left foot passes i have ever seen dont know why he cant transfer that form to the first team. Another squad player at best for me since his injury. Thoughts please gents UTT
On today's showing, McShane should be in the first team that's it. Although in a league match, they'd have better players around them therefore making their jobs easier. No way was Bruce's a penalty.. Bruce went to the floor, their striker could have had a shot but was too eager to go down
Pretty much agree with that - In addition I thought that Jakupovic had a steady game and Oli showed some nice touches particularly in the first half before disappearing. Biggest disappointment was the general lack of ambition going forwards with players like Dawson and even Rosenior looking really ring rusty. Cameron Stewart looked to be trying but really doesn't look to have very much to offer and I quite like McKenna as a rule but thought he was really below par today.
9 changes is too many.. im all for a bit of rotation, but it looked like a bunch of misfits meeting for the 1st time 4 or 5 changes maybe.... every manager gives it the line of im picking a team to win the game, id rather they just said it as it was and said im not the slightest bit arsed about the cup, so dont waste your tenner
oli should be dominating a game like that, he went on one powerful run in the 1st half and looked good, but that was it. he is one of the worst culprits for not doing enough to try win a place in the team imo, like you say he showed some nice touches , but he should have been grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and running them ragged and getting us through a game like that....looked a player to me who knows hes not ousting quinn so might as well not exert himself.
