Team Gulasci Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson Koren Evans Mckenna Brady Fryatt Adebola Started really poor. We just seemed flat. They looked quite impressive, good little passing side. Two nippy wingers, though no real goal threat. Mckenna caught out a few times in midfield, Evans did a lot of running but not much end product. Dele is fine if the ball is pinged into his chest. 5 yards either side and he cant get there. Fryatt looks a bit half hearted to me. Rosie seemed to play within himself. Chester stood out again. I didnt expect him to take part but he did and was pretty faultless. Hobbs seemed fine also. Dudgeon was quiet. Brady had a few moments but not as good as the last two games. 2nd Half. The top player came on and showed what we lacked. Command from the middle of the park. TC was excellent again controlled the tempo of the game, stroked the ball about well. Harper was poor. Atkinson did ok as did Devitt. Pusic again looked the part, out wide to start with and then down the middle with NB. They played a good one two at on epoint but Nicky's little legs just couldnt make up the ground. Dawson was ok. It will be a travesty if TC doesnt command a starting place against Blackpool, far and away our best centre midfield player., The other 3 arent even close. Oh and the steak pies were excellent 10/10.
Just remembered, we played a really good passing move Atkinson only had to square it to Pusic and it was in but for some reason he turned out and laid it back to East who blazed over. Ye East did ok too as did Bradley, forgot about them. If i think of out else i will post it but had a few beers now so............
Sorry 2-0. Fryatt and Chester. Fryatts was an interchange between him and Koren. Chester's was a header form a corner. Im not getting paid for this you know!!
Disagree about the poor start bit, we hit the bar after about 2 minutes! And as for Fryatt not being interested, he had his best game of pre-season and was constantly chasing down defenders, on any other match he could have scored more. Very impressed with us today, limited them to about 1 shot and never looked like conceding. Chester and Hobbs were very solid and Cairney played well again. Pusic also did well, looks a good player
I'd agree with that summary, other than I thought it was one of McKenna best pre-seasons, he played some great cross field balls. Adebola was good with the ball played to his head or chest, but with the ball at his feet, he invariably messed up(his first touch reminds me of Mclean's). Cairney made a big difference and it will indeed be a travesty if he doesn't start on Friday and Atkinson has surprised me in the last two games, I didn't rate him at all, but he's looked quite handy(Emerton seems to be off the radar for now). I hope we sign Pusic, I like the way he plays.
Tar muchly....i rely on this site for scores and match reports because I am too lazy to look through all the dross on ceefax, then it won't be on there anyway...Keep up the excellent work.
Looking decent for Friday then? was at Hull Pride today so didnt manage to hear about the game.. looking forward for Blackpool though
Ye he did play some decent balls out to Brady. He just didnt dictate the game and we tended to go long too often in the first half. Mckenna is a poor mans Ash, he can pass the ball better, but his leadership and his tackling arent anywhere near.
