This might be the extra 90 minutes Barmby was hoping to get sorted for the like of Oli. Hopefully it goes ahead - and he makes it through the whole game. You never know, he could be 'wheeled out' for the FA Cup match in central midfield......
There is a young lad called Keilon Dillion who has been playing for the reserves earlier in the season. I believe he was released by Derby or someone. I like the look of this kids. Sadly I don't think he is ready for the first team yet, but i d like to see him get some regular gametime. Looks like a budding David Batty
It's Kealan Dillon and he's a month away from his 18th birthday(he was indeed released by Derby), he now has 5 caps for the Ireland U17's, scoring once.
that is a mystery to me. don't get me wrong, he has far to go before he is first team material, but there are other youngsters on city's books who have less potential in my mind
Lots and lots of mistakes are made with young players between the ages of 14 and 18. You should always judge them on what you see, not on who they may have been released by. The saying "One man's junk is another man's treasure" is never more apt than with young footballers.
A prime example is Jordan Rhodes, who Ipswich didn't think was good enough when he was 19. Oops! It looks like these two played today... Markcullen21 Mark Cullen Another 60 mins of game time under belt and another goal.... Looking forward to chilling out tonight!!! markoxley1 Mark Oxley Legs are in pieces after today!! Sofa and food needed!
its a pity that 'official' sources cant be as quick at releasing information. I wonder if we will see the goals on City Player this time? Glad for Cullen!!
I just noticed this also: @maxclark4 Max Clark Lost 3-2 today, got a lot out of the game though and he is only 16 I think? @KealanDillon Kealan Dillon Lost 3-2 but good to get my first 90 mins in a long time under my belt
Max Clark was only 16 last week and he's already playing for the England U17's, so he must be half decent(he's a defender).
Depends how many saves he had to make, if Sheff U were constantly putting it top corner it'd be fair to be knackered from exertion rather than exhaustion. Can't have done his back injury any good having to pick the ball out of the net 3 times though.
biggest worry is he looks just like and plays a similar style to 'Macca' when he plays!!!! Forever to be known as 'Mini Macca'
