Questions are being asked who are your heroes and given - Gerry Gow/Big John ( My choice) /Big Norm/Gibbo/Merrick but these are all history, who are todays big leaders, who are the fellas that the young of today will remember?

If Ihad the luck to be young today who would I or you choose? Who would be the heroes of today, I've got a possible 3 - Rob Dickie, Cameron Pring, Zak Vyner and I own up to be a big fan of Tommy Conway and don't blame him for seeking a new pathway.

Who do you suggest, I can hear Max O'Leary coming down the track...

It’s difficult, anyone half decent these days leaves for pastures new. The ones you quoted all stayed and plied their trade here.

IF you had a parameter for that comment "stayed and plied their trade" how many games / seasons would be qualifier? GOW certainly and JG ... NH well end of career maybe 2 seasons? with us but brilliant [as far as our players go.]
One that I put on as todays would but Weimann .. why did we loan out a player who plays for country! and still has a lot to give ....

Regarding Weimann, there was a lot of talk that he had 4 more games before a contract clause was enacted. Not sure if it was a pay rise or a new contract, or both; not sure we ever knew; however, the board didn't want that, so they loaned him to WBA for the rest of the season to run down his contract and let him leave on a free.
 
I honestly can’t pick a ‘hero’ from the current bunch.
I’m not trying to be grumpy or disrespectful - those mentioned above are decent players, but not heroes or legends for me.
The last proper City legends for me were Korey Smith, Aden Flint and Louis Carey. Scott Murray was another. Weimann came close - always gave his all. Basso has to be up there too - but now I’m going back too far into the past.

Mike Gibson, Ray Cashley, Chris Garland, John Galley, Geoff Merrick, Norman Hunter, Gerry Gow, Trevor Tainton, Bob Taylor, Rob Newman, Carl Shutt, Scott Murray, Wayne Allison, Adriano Basso, Andy Weimann
Of the current crop Rob Dickie is head and shoulders above the rest imho
