Whilst if was great to finally beat Barnsley, I have to advise you that I witnessed the greatest result from all of today's games. Stirling Albion beat Rangers at Forthbank Stadium and it was a magical day all round. Billy Bremner's local team and one he was a ball boy for, gave The Rangers their first ever league defeat and we deserved the victory. 3,751 people came to watch the game today, we usually get 700 - 800 people at games and the Albion fans did their team proud as did the players. As much as I hate Rangers and everything about them, I applaud their supporters who took the defeat reasonably well. As for Leeds, it was great to get the update that we had won, now for the Rhinos to win and it will be a prefect day.
What a fantastic day for Stirling Albion. I looked out for this result today, just had a feeling that the Spirit of Bremner would prevail over the mighty Gers. How Rangers fans must feel getting stick from the Celtic lot, but so it goes.
What made the result even more impressive was that we did it without our manager. Greig McDonald was not at the game today as he was getting married! Yes, our manager missed the biggest game of the season and perhaps of his short managerial time, in order to get married.
Fantastic club. Being from Ireland you don't have to be a genius to figure out who my second team is and it sure isn't the tax dodgers in blue
I don't want to take anything away from Stirling Albion but Rangers have failed to win an away game in the league this season. It's also not like you can compare them to Rangers of last season either. All the same, a morale boosting win and some welcome cash in the bank on Monday morning to the Beanos
For anyone interested, here's a video of the last few minutes of the game yesterday. It was an amazing day and I'm a very proud Beano today. Understand Snoddy passed on his congrats to Stirling Albion. Snoddy played for the Albion during the 2006 - 2007 season, helping us win promotion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABUXObyJlwA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
