Did you watch the first goal Newcastle conceded? Needless corner and then a defender and keeper left the ball for each other. The Man City striker just pounced from 2 yards out after the ball had bounced.Newcastle losing 2-0 after 27min.
Another VAR **** up.
City keeper takes out Newcastle forward in the box.
Blatant pen.
Guess what, not given against the big club
Helps our goal difference look a little bit betterCity now 4-0 up.
It makes it a lot better in effect, as there is now only a 3 goal difference between them and us. They're finishing this half of the season the way we started, with ManUtd their next opponent. Yes, we have Arsenal but that's actually a second half game as we've already played them once. Leeds travel to Liverpool and Burnley are at home to Everton while Southampton travel to West Ham.Helps our goal difference look a little bit better
Watching game on Hesgoals..I'm worried about today's Watford game. Spurs are nothing special and we could really do with Watford losing to keep them within our sights.
I think there was a medical emergency in the crowd.Bure, was there a serious injury or something? Why did the match have eleven minutes of added time?
Great result for us, of course.
It's possible that Leeds, Southampton or Everton could have a bad run and be dragged back into it but I doubt it, which leaves the bottom four to fight it out. Watford have lost 6 in a row. Burnley have taken 2 points from their last 5 games via two goalless draws, managing 1 shot on target in each game. Newcastle have taken 4 points from their last 5 games which included a 1-0 home win over Burnley. We need to start picking up points if we're going to stay in touch. Not very confident about West Ham away but Everton at home and Watford away could be a chance for points. With Watford and Burnley both losing, it's starting to look like that season when it was 3 out of 4 to go down: ourselves, Southampton, Palace and West Brom. I think this was the season we lost the last game against Fulham 6-0 when a win would have kept us up.
The bad news is one of the four is Newcastle, who have ten squillion pounds to spend.
I respect Man City for taking the game seriously though. They go with a very strong team and aren’t showboating. The latest farce. Swindon v Citeh. The ritual humiliation of a small town team by billionaires. I am rapidly going off football. Thanks Murdoch.
To criticise the FA Cup because massive clubs are drawn against minnows is a bit daft.I respect Man City for taking the game seriously though. They go with a very strong team and aren’t showboating.
