The ref was in a ****e position and his lino did him no favours.
VAR is there to correct cockups, but the"refs union", who oversee VAR decisions 99% of the time go with on field decisions.
They are not cheats, but incompetent.
But having said that, the players are also cheats, claiming throw ins and corners, they know are incorrect, rolling around on the ground, after very little contact.
Having watched MOTD, I was surprised to not see the Hanley injury incident.
Oh, silly me, it was inflicted by Ronaldo, so no problem, Wonder what would have been said and shown if Hanley had put out Ronaldo. Major talking point without doubt.
Getting back to the Match, I think we were far the better team, and Smiffy has done wonders. All we need is a change of luck, and a ref who can overcome his desire to please the superstars.

I know it’s ridiculous isn’t it. You can’t see it from that still but the shot was goalbound too. And once again no mention of VAR even looking at this one, maybe they did or maybe they didn’t but the commentators said nothing.
Commentators were diabolical, but what do you expect with Gary "true Red Devil for life" Neville spouting his one sided opinion.
The pen was iffy, but most decisions went against us, and all 50/50 went to Manure

NBC highlights also showed the ball hitting the defender's ribs first. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but referees "protecting" their own is quite plausible. VAR doesn't work and should be scrapped.
