Thought we were by far the best team in the first half, looked good and applied pleanty of pressure but second half we propper backed off and invited them on to us!

Really pleased for Wickham like, took his goal well too!

Cant do owt about the Petrov goal, it was class but think we gifted them the second and it was avoidable!

All in all not a bad showing and at least were starting to pick up points, just feel Villa were there for the taking today like but better than getting beat i suppose and at least Bruce insnt making crazy substitutions anymore!

Still dont think Bruce is the man to take us forward but only he can prove me wrong and ill give him a break, for now!

In summary a point is better than nowt so hopefully we can kick on, not expecting owt from Man Utd next week so anything will be a bonus!

Not good enough. How come Wickham is all of a sudden ready? Why wait until last week to play him?

He should have been in in a 4-4-2 from day one.

    Another Bruce bungle.

I thought we did well today. As the OP said we were the better side in the first half, it was interesting looking at the stats at 1/2 time 8 of our players had covered more ground on the pitch than any of the Villa players. This could be the reason we took our foot off the gas with 20 to go. It looked like we were always going to conceed a 2nd as the pressure mounted up.

Still we showed character to come back and get a point. Wickham was good again he really is going to be a top player if he keeps developing. MOM for me was Richardson, a superb takle to deny Bent near the start of the game and he kept Nzog quiet most of the game. I personally thought we looked better when Bardo came on, did anyone else notice he took the captains armband off OShea.

A mention to Westwood too, he came on and did well, what a save from Bent too. Its nice to see we have quality in all 3 of our goal keepers.

A fair result but a bit frustrating we did not take all 3 points.

Sess is definitely right footed having watched him play today.

I think if you track back a bit, the lad was suffering from a groin injury early season, and care was given in case he came back too early!

Ricco was our best player for me. The lad has taken stick, but should be winning a few round.

Ps since when has Heskey started playing in "the hole"?

How about we start giving Brucie some credit in regards to Wickham. He told us from day one he would use him sparingly this season to bed the lad in, he's only 18 remember. Bruce does know what he's doing, he has been in the game for a long time.

PLEASE stop saying Richardson was good. He was up against a poor.NO piss poor player today and was still average at best.
Can't and never will be a fan of Richardson,
    Same goes for Turner,
And the very weak link in the middle, Colback.
Get those three out for a more quality player and we have a canny first eleven.

Good shout Ken. I've been one of us that have been insisting that he's not a LB, but I have to admit that he has been very impressive in his last 3 matches. I hope he keeps it up and can stay injury free.

The same player most wanted us to sign.

Credit where credit is due: Richardson and Sess both superb today.

Happy with a point at ft but i wish we had pushed them more at 1-1. Id be scratching my head if i was a villa fan at the way mcleish set up. heskey was mostly left wing and the system made agbonlahor anonymous
