Fredrik "Freddy" Ljungberg has retired officially from football. Arsenal legend! What is your best memory? (source: http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/article15304398.ab (in swedish))
With the greatest of respect i wouldn't call him a legend. He was a great player especially in the 2001-02 season and he was definately a cult hero.My two favourite memories would be him scoring against the Chavs in the 2002 FA Cup final and him creating the chance for Wiltord to score for us to win the league at the Stretford Devil Bowl again in 2002.
Set up the goal at Old Trafford when we won the league back in 2001... also scored that same season in the reverse fixture at Highbury. You know the one, where Barthez made two clangers to gift us the win.
I agree, was my first cup final, was sitting next to a Chelsea fan and jusmped in the air in delight when it went in. My throat was hoarse from singing we love you Freddie... Also seemed to play well against ManUre which is always good All the best for the future Fred!!
Also remember Lee Dixon's celebration behind the goal. He knew it was in before everyone else. Brilliant.
How can't he be a legend???? He was an integral part of the team that went unbeaten, that alone makes him a legend at the club, all the players in the unbeaten team will be legends forever, that's called the greatest Arsenal team ever, and one of the best football teams in history.
"With the greatest of respect i wouldn't call him a legend". In my opinion he isn't a legend. It doesn't make me right and it doesn't make me wrong
I never realised that was Lee Dixon ! I always thought it was a ballboy Great moment and cracking goal
