To Sum Things Up So Far.

After tonights events its looking increasing likely that we arnt going to lose Enrique to the scouse, however I still have a feeling that hes heading to the door .. or being forced through it, lets hope not.

Tiote is tied down to a 6 year contract and although the Daily Fail have written that Redknapp is interested, I cant see him leaving. He seems to love Newcastle and Newcastle love him.

I believe Barton says he will stay until the end of his contract, it seems daft that we wont offer him 4 years. His game dosnt rely on pace, and hes got plenty left anyway. It just dosnt make sense that we wont reward him with an extended contract after the way hes played this season, not to mention he said he would take a pay cut. Heres to hoping he does a Steven Taylor and signs sometime next season.

We are being strongly linked to the likes of Gervinho, Gameiro and Menez ect. Which while it might all be bull****, its showing good signs of ambition if we are aiming above the likes of Carlton Cole and Jay Bothroyd. Im honestly excited for what this transfer window will bring, it would be nice to see a few other decent players brought in that we've been linked with - Demba Ba, Jose Rondon, Pav, N'Zogbia, Bassong. Obviously we cant expect to bring all of these in, but needless to say that a select few would be nice. It would give us something we havnt had in a while, strength in depth.

Oh and Campbell, Kuqi are already gone, which would of freed up a nice amount of wages .. hopefully we can offload others like Perch, Smith and Xisco.

Only time will tell.

Let's just stick to what we've got at the moment. Tie the guys down with a decent contract and then see about getting some new faces in.

 

It is nice to be linked with some good players again, even if the links are just rumours at least they're players who aren't too unrealistic for us anymore. Hopefully being linked to some of the bigger name signings like gervinho, gameiro and menez gets around and it sends a message of ambition to any other players we're actually after!

PS. Although keeping Jose isn't a must I agree with Agent Bruce, we've got to sort out anyone signing contracts this year before bringing anyone in
