Do you think we should buy a replacement for Charlie when he/if he goes or work with some of the younger strikers, intergrating and developing them into the first team ?
Personally I would use what we have in attack and focus on bringing in at least 2 good defenders and one midfield defender and wait until the next window to assess the attack line.

I think we should go for another Charlie type player that can play off Polter the way Charlie did with Zamora.

Not worried about the attack...Poulter, JET, Jamie, Greco-Cox, Blackwood (looking good) and I hope Chery

    Defenders I am worried about

Seeing we are associated with Ryan Fredericks a right back from Spuds

Young RB, played for Middlesboro last season....what is not to like (other than he is 5'8 tall)

    As Beth says...

...we have 4/5 candidates for the 1 or 2 striker positions so replacing Charlie would not be a priority for me.

...on the other hand, we have 3 experienced professionals, one OAP (Hill) and one youngster (Furlong) for the 4 positions in our defence. Isn't it obvious where we should be focussing our energies and our money?

It's still possible for Charlie to leave and QPR be left with enough time for a quick, cheeky splash in the transfer pool. But no desperate buys, hopefully. And no ridiculous spends.

Guess it depends how much of Austin's fees is allowed to be re-spent, whilst losing your main striker is clearly a huge loss having virtually no defensive options will leave us clearly exposed so 1st priority has got to be at least a RB & another CB after that can look at other additions if the finances are there.

If we get £15 for him i'd like to see us spend four of that On Andre Grey. Charlie's goals need to be replaced - no brainer for me. the rest can go on the aging back line.

I don't know if the Defence is as desperate as I first thought.

Caulker and Onouha are set to be our starting CB's. Hill is back up. One more needed to be bought for certain.

Left Back we've currently got YSY, Traore,Jack Robinson and Cole Kwapeka

Right back we've got Darnell Furlong, (with Ryan Fredericks expected to sign as well)

I'd say we'd perhaps need 1 more CB, sell Traore and get a deal done for Fredericks.

I'm kinda in agreement with this:

    a RB (Plus Frendricks)
    a CB (For cover)
    a ST (If Charlie leaves)

Otherwise im happy with the squad. (Provided McCarthy stays too)

Agree with a lot of that. I'd prefer it if we sold and replaced Caulker. but doubt that will happen now. So the 1 CB needed must be good.

Isn't Robinson out long term? If so we'd be weak at LB if Traore goes and isn't replaced.

Interesting to see if German CB signs, still think even with him we still need further cover....but we need RB...the Spurs guy fits the bill .....

Really worried though that Traore is still on the books...

I think Robinson is due back around Christmas time, so we'd treat him like a new January signing once he's fit. Certainly knows his way around this league having played for Blackpool and Huddersfield.

Traore just has to go, and perhaps we have to rely on YSY and Kwapeka until Robinson is back. Maybe a 3 month loan deal for an experienced LB?
