Onions are easy. Get your lass, or someone elses if you dont have one, to attempt to open it. Take the jar off her after she fails to open it. Lid will come off easy. Tell her she obviously loosened it up for you. You then have pickled onions and you can adopt smug mode.
Easy way to start fire is getting a spark from batteries, watched too many bad survival shows on Discovery. Always makes me laugh when they take the fire drill type thing into damp areas on shows like Naked and Afraid and cant get fire just because they feel superior as 'survivalists', happens in at least 1 out of 5 of those shows.
