    How poor has he been?

People can't blame fitness, he's had enough games now, look at Gerrard.

He just quite simply can't play football, he gave the ball away which led to their third, as well as many other occasions. His passing is very poor and judgement is terrible.

I honestly don't think many can argue, but what has happened? Does he know he's leaving? I'd take £15m based on current form, but then I remember who our owner is.

    Thank you!

He was appalling today and has been for some time. Pardew needs to have a word with him and see what's going on.

This season, Guthrie has been a better player for us. Tiote has always been very sloppy, and this season he's not been the same force.

  4. His passing was poor, but his movement was good and he was a lot more sharp and pumped up. He actually looked up for the game.

Thought he was one of the better players today (probably not saying much)! You got to remember he never had much options to hit going forward, so he had to pass it back or take someone on or do a wonder pass.

He looked fairly comfortable on the ball, made a few mistakes but both players on both sides were.

Think we were still shell shocked from the 2nd goal for the 3rd. What was Simpson thinking!

Was okay first half and was one of the few that was actaully looking to get the ball down and pick out a man.

Second half he was pretty dreadful and looked disiniterested.

  8. I'm all for being realistic and thinking if we get a good offer for him, take it, but I'm really ****ing disgusted with some fans saying they think he's ****e now or just get rid of him first chance we get.

Tiote is a fantastic player, he's just off the pace this season a bit. On form he's probably our overall best player. He's worth waiting for. I think a spell with Ivory Coast would be good for him tbh.

If we get a brilliant offer we have to take it, nobody is priceless. I disagree that he is our best player. On his day he is a key player but Krul, Saylor, Colo, Ba and Cabaye are far more crucial to our team and better players IMO. I don't think anyone is saying he is ****, most just agree he is playing poorly at the moment and something needs to be done.

To be honest , whether we get a 30m or 40m offer for Tiote it's not like we'll see any of it.

Still waiting to see some of that 35m.

  14. When he's at his best he can pass extremely well, move brilliantly, hold on to the ball and change the flow of the game. He can also put in fantastic standing tackles. Those players you mentioned are probably more crucial, but that doesn't make them better players.

Tiote at his best raises the level of our midfield.

Guthrie is class but just not the same player.

I totally agree with accepting a great offer for him, and I said that in my post but I think it's really disgraceful some people now saying Tiote is **** and we should get shot of him.

I think he can hold onto the ball well, and the strength he shows to win the ball on his feet is quality. I've never been sure about his passing, a bit like Enrique was for us, I always feel a bit nervous when Tiote is playing a pass, short or long. Tiote raises the level, one criticism will always be he offers nothing going forward, compared to people like Parker, Fletcher, Song or even Phil Jones who drive the team on when playing a holding midfield role. Tiote is very defensive, to become a top top player he needs to add an attacking edge to his game.

I still don't think we should sell, but I think i'd accept £20m instead of £25m as things stand.

  16. Well that's bollocks about him not offering anything to the attack. He can cross quite well and got two assists earlier in the season. He may not play great through balls to slot players through but on form he can pick out a decent pass to help a piece of attacking play. He also can strike a ball quite well at times.

The amount of money we get for Tiote is irrelevant. The only thing we should concern ourselves with is how much money Ashley gives us to get new players in.

He isn't a terrible crosser. But he gets into a position to do that once every 6 games or so. At best he can play a pass out to a wideman. You'll never see him play the pass and then carry on his run forward for the return. He has struck about 2 decent shots in a season and a half, 95% end up in the stands.

The amount of money we get is far from irrelevant. Even if Mike Ashley gives us sweet **** all as usual, every penny we get is helping pay off his loan. We clear his loan, carry on our current financial plan then maybe, just maybe we may see some money invested into the squad.

When's Guthrie back? Him or Abeid should get a shot in midfield soon because Tiote isn't showing what he did last season. His passing and decision making is very poor at times and he constantly dribbles backwards needlessly often losing the ball in the process.

Tiote hasn't been as good this season as he was last season. Indeed, Guthrie has performed better than him this season and I'd like to see him get his chance in place of Tiote if performances like today keep coming in. But I certainly wouldn't be thinking of selling Tiote based on a run of poor form, he is still a great player and will eventually be back to his best.

I know he's not at his best but it's just pathetic when some people say they want him to be sold to Chelsea after a below average run of form, maybe not in this thread but many others.

People need to give him a break, he's never had bad run for us until recently, all players have them. If he continues like this for another 2 months, then I'll worry.
