I was thinking the other day (as many of these articles seem to start with) who are the three best signings of the season through out the premier league, ive narrowed it down from a 10 man short list and here are my top three -

    1. Tiote - only cost 3.3 million but now worth 33m (well maybe 20m), hasnt had a bad match since day 1 and scored the goal of the season in my opinion, is second to only essian and i think is proof that you dont need to spend big to get big.

    2. Hernandez - not a huge fee at around 10m, has scored lots of goals (but a bit of a poacher) probably one of the best goal scorers this season and isnt too arogant for a scum player.

3.Van der vart - a bargain at 10m and had a fantastic start to the season but has fizzled out towards the end, can score goals and create them and has run spurs championsleague this year, but no tiote.

special mention - Yaya Toure - big and black, love him
David silva - a poor mans messi
Gyan - he's **** but still not a bad buy, a little too expensive
Odemwingue - he's so good i cant even spell his name
Ramires - very expensive but a personal fifa faverot

i hope i havent missed any one obvious out, cheers.

    feel free to disagree...

I think Suarez is going set the premier league alight for Liverpool next season, but you could argue that at 20 million he wasnt really a bargain buy, apart from that I'd probably agree with the list for the most part.

Pretty sure Ben Arfa would be in with a shout if he hadnt got injured <ok> such a damn shame!

Hard to give credit to City buys considering they cast a wide net and pay over the odds, but I really do love watching Silva and Yaya play in England -- I'm biased though being a huge fan of Silva's for years now (speaking of Valencia, what I'd give to see Mata in black and white...). Gotta love Toure's lumbering runs too. I agree with your top 3, just saying that it sucks when players you like get bought by clubs like City.

Value for money, Tiote wins buy of the season hands down!

Trying not to be biased bit its between Tiote and Hernandez for me. Both been greatly influencial and value for money for both teams campaigns this season.

Considering 'top club' bias as well as newcastle hatred, will probably be something along these lines..

    1. Hernandez
    2. Yaya Toure
    3. Van Der Vaart

agree with your top 3 but your prices are a little high (according to SSN/BBC/My Mates)

Hernandez was a reported fee of £6m (or so they said on MOTD)

And Van Der Vaart was only £7m
