To be fair it was a red card, but I don't think Sess would have been sent off if it not for Tiote's pathetic delayed reaction.

I'll accept what Sess did was stupid and that he should have been sent off. What I won't accept, however, is Newcastle fans telling us about how hard Tiote is and using the Chuck Norris jokes. He is the opposite of what he's made out to be.

He's a good player, but I've lost all respect for him now.

I know it is not likely but are mike Dean and tiote related, I ask cos I just cannot figures out how he stayed on the pitch. Surely Fat Mike, is this a scarf I have round my neck, has notmpaid off some of Deans gambling debts?

it was a red, but his over-reaction has taken him down in my estimations. still, there's only a handful of our players that i can say hand-on-heart would never have done that in the circumstances.

overall, i though tiote was very poor today, and i have seen him have some stormers the past few seasons, i think he's a cracking player deserving of his hype, but he was shocking today. fouled and caught people's ankles all the time, you could argue that's his job put his passing was appalling today, his first touch shocking.

Disappointed in Cheik for the way he reacted, but to be fair if Sessgnon had stayed on the pitch it would have been an injustice, so perhaps he did what he needed to do...

Cattermole showed the scumbag fans what tiote is. A soft knobhead.

A hard man , haha what a joke.
Fouled consistently only getting booked after his fifth nasty tackle. He's a girl and the scumbag fans cannot handle that.

I'm afraid the stats don't back up your argument on tiote's passing today. He completed around 75 to cattermoles 17.

Bang on the money. Who are these stay at home Mackems who invent the game in their head?

Tiote's shooting? Rank. His Fouling? Well I think the ref was about right with him, the first two challenges I saw from him weren't yellow worthy anyway. His passing? I can think of three poor passes, which in fairness to those high on helium and oblivious to the game's content, is unusual for him, but overall it was crisp and accurate. The one to Ben Arfa typifies his footballing skill for me. Tell me a Sunderland player who didn't give the ball away several times? Oh wait, they all did. Bar O'Shea and Mignolet, I thought the Sunderland players were as average as everyone bar Ben Arfa on our team!

The Tiote "incident", well, seeing it again makes me a little uneasy. Pretending is stupid, especially over-dramatic crap like that. However, if he didn't do it, no red. Him doing it ensured the correct decision was made. It reflects most poorly on the culture the REFEREES themselves have instigated by poor decision-making and willingness to make the important judgements, which in affect brings about swallow dives and face holding. Not nice to see.

Red everyday of the week. So I'd calm if I were a mackem.

I've said it was a sending off. I'm just shocked that the supposedly hardman Tiote has turned out to be such a little girl. Went down in my estimation a lot today.

But we are talking far too much about Tiote being a girly-man.

We should also be talking about the magnificent strike partnership of Ba and Cisse aka 'Mista Penalty' and 'who?'

Well it says a lot about your own pseudo-masculine desire for footballers... The psychology would be interesting. I mean, I doubt very much that he cares what any of us think, even the Newcastle fans. Thus so many people getting upset over what was a trivial incident in the game (The foul was a "turning point", whatever that is supposed to imply), is more homo-erotic pandering than important discussion.

If, however, you are like me and want to see footballers just getting on with football and acting like emotionless robots, you can either surely agree with my other post about refs, or else support my back-up... Robot football! Go Newcastle United Termobots!

So you're annoyed that Tiote's play-acting caused the right refereeing decision to be made? You're annoyed that Tiote's play-acting prevented Sessegnon from getting away with violent conduct?

What Tiote did was done for exactly that purpose, to make sure that the referee didn't miss it by mistake. Any of your players would do the same if they were whacked in the face. Any single one.

This, exactly this. Sessesgone was a whiny little brat for losing the ball. Deserved a red.

sorry, did i say cattermole played better football than tiote today..? don't think so.

i said i felt he played poorly today, looked like he gave the ball away a few times and his touch was poor, and like it or not he was totally bossed by cattermole and gardner first half. he definitely improved in the second, i just felt overall he didn't play as well today as i have seen him. you lot watch him more often like, was that one of his best performances then??
