Tiote and Cabaye want to stay - hope it is true!

The Gazette understands Tiote told his team-mates late last season he had no intention of leaving Newcastle, as did midfield partner Yohan Cabaye.

Tiote is also settled on Tyneside off the pitch, which helps him perform on the field.

“I like living in Newcastle, very much,” Tiote told the Gazette.

“It is a very simple life for me.

“I am at home with my family and I can just chill some days for the whole day. But when I want to go out and do some stuff, I can do that as well.

“People here are more friendly than aggressive, so life is all right for me here.”

I hope this is true (the bit about Cabaye seems a bit tagged on to the article), but I doubt it will stop speculation between now and the beginning of the season!

 

It doesn't really matter what they want of the money is right.

 

Can certainly see Cabaye being here, a little less confident about Tiote

Lets face it after the Ba rumors today we need all the positivity we can get.

 

If a player leaves, it'll be down to the club cashing in more than anything.

I don't think many of them will be actively looking for a transfer out.
They just got the club into 5th place and Europe, and surely will want to reap the rewards of last season and try to go one better

 

It would be nice to retain them but the club decides who comes and goes. If offers are accepted then players move, thats just the way it is.

 

Would be nice to keep both player's so we can push on but if a silly offer comes in we all know they or any other player will be off.

 

If a decent offer comes in and we can use the money to bring in players that can make us better then that is a good thing. Certainly helped us improve getting 35 million for Carroll.
